Let me explain... or sum up:
I purchased this mechanical pencil after reading up on it, it's generally loose cap (which I fixed immediately upon receiving by squeezing the cap slightly near the bottom), and overall solid build. I also checked out all of the models up and down of this to make sure I was getting what I wanted. And it was. It has a very solid build overall. That said after a few hours of notes, sketching something, or actually getting into gritty detail for a drawing... that solid build can dig into the fingers. But after hours upon hours of classwork, I know this happens regardless of the pen in question. I do enjoy the metal grip, as I have rather clammy hands usually and anything less usually slips out of my grip leaving me annoyed and distracted from the task at hand while I adjust--yet again. After owning this thing for a few months, dropping it at least 5 solid times or so, it's still doing splendidly. The only wear it has from our journey is where the metal cap landed at an angle on a stone floor from a chest height, and it now has a ding. It should also be noted that I've had to McGuyver a few erasers to fit it from other erasers (generally just shaving off a bit of the other eraser so it fits)... I still prefer it to everything else. And if that was to long... let me sum up: Solid build, good metal grip, has character after several drops, but still works exactly as intended.

Amazing Pencil
This pencil is my favorite. Although I go back and forth between the 600 and Rapid Pro, I really enjoy the fact that I can retract the tip.The 600 feels a lot more solid though. It does not jiggle at all. There are times where the insides of the Rapid Pro move ever so slightly but the 600 is just so solid it doesn't budge even a bit. Both are 5 stars to me though. I initially lost my first Rapid Pro and was so bummed I got a replacnet right away.

Best of the best
O ya this is the one. I’ve been searching for a long time now for the perfect mechanical pencil and this is it. I have just about every makers pencil and the quality of the Rapid Pro is unmatched. The second you pick it up you feel the difference, from it’s metal body to it subtle knurled grip, to its Re-tractable barrel and Cushion lead mechanism not to mention the matte black finish it’s quite obvious it’s the best of the best

Functional, but overpriced
4/5 stars.Pencil is good. It functions well. Has a nice low-ish center of balance. Nice weight. Non-fatiguing. beautiful gnurled grip.-1 star because of cost relative to a few design flaws. The most notorious of these are the loosening cap and the plastic threading in the center. But honestly, this Rotring name has become something that is not really cost-effective or as reliable as it used to be. There isn't a compelling reason to buy this over a competitor unless you really want to own a Rotring.

Good, solid, sturdy pencil that’s meant to last.
I am currently in college. Most of my work I do in pencil along with my sketches.I’ve used many mechanical and drafting pencils. So far this one is sturdy, a little heavier than your normal plastic pencils, and it definitely feels solid in your hand when your holding it.My favorite part is the retractable tip, so it doesn’t get bent or stab something in my bag.

Its a good option, i would buy it again
Smooth, stable, reliable performance is key and this delivers exactly that. I may not be drafting but my drawings sure look good these days. Doesnt hold much lead and it is a tiny eraser but those are both more than adequate for my uses. As it is I havent used the factory-supplied lead yet anyway

Much better pencil by far
The spring mechanism makes it almost impossible to write with. If you press even slightly too hard the spring mechanism would allow the lead to be retracted slightly by the spring. Every time this happens the lead sleeve would shimmy up the lead until eventually the lead would be left without support and nothing protecting it from breaking off. I returned and then went with the 600. Much better pencil by far!

Nice weight and color
It drags when it writes. Took way longer than I thought it should of to be shipped to me.But I got it and company was polite when I wrote them ask hold up.. and it is nice looking pen which what the call it in Japan but it’s a mechanical pencil actually.
