It is good, the only problem is too expensive.

I bought this as a replacement for the same coat that was 15 years old. It had a small tear and a friend tried repairing it. Unfortunately, after attempted repair, it was toast. Anyway, I live in Washington. It rains a lot, and gets very windy. I have a lightweight rain jacket (actually several), this one is a well-constructed, medium weight Goretex shell. Very high quality.

Ordered a size Large and received a size Medium. Not only was the size wrong, but this jacket was CLEARLY worn by someone else before and absolutely REEKED of cologne and had many marks and sweat stains around the jacket and neck collar area. WTF!!!!??

I'm sorry, but in no universe is this jacket worth $600. Remove 1 star for the absurd price. The only reason I purchased it was because my life is worth far more than that. I had gone on a hike with a lessor jacket, and learned a hard lesson about hypothermia in rain and 60F. I wouldn't previously think that 60F was cold enough to ever be a hazard...but when wet, and the wind is blowing, it sure is! Since then I've encountered 3 more situations, and this Jacket kept me warm and dry. The fit seems about perfect to me. Another downside is the buildup of heat and moisture in warmer weather. Above 70F and I have to open the pit zips. Above 80F and I cant stand to wear it for any physical activity as I get too hot and sweaty. A poncho serves me better in those cases. Gor-Tex isn't a perfect material in any sense of the word - so ignore the advertisement. It probably does release steam moisture...just not enough to matter. Hood fits well although mine tends to slide down over my eyes a bit. Pockets are high enough to avoid a backpack belt. Other than the few nitpicks, and the outrageous price, I do recommend this jacket.

Terrible experience, a expensive jacket without any identification, such a label or tag to prove this a new jacket.
