Taken from the Ancient Organics' Facebook page when asked to explain the country of origin on Amazon: "The listing on amazon as "UAE" is a mistake. Thank you for bringing it to our attention! We are 100% USA made and sourced in Northern CA! We will change the country to USA asap."

Hi, I can't open the jar no matter how hard I try. it hurts my hands already but still no chance. Any advice?

I have never been able to open one of these jars, no matter how much hot water I use. The one I just bought couldn't even be opened by various muscular men around my neighborhood. So finally a woman started working the lid open with a spoon for a good 10 minutes, and suddenly, it popped right off. But sometimes when I buy this ghee, I go weeks without eating it, just staring at it in my cabinet, because I can't open it and am too busy to find someone to ask. If you have a health condition that prevents muscle strength or you are not muscular and feel uncomfortable asking others to always open your ghee, maybe it's not the ghee for you. But it's so darn good!!!

Does anyone have information on how the cows are treated? Are they outside or kept inside/hold on an outside dirt area and just fed with grass?

From what I could decipher based on available Straus Creamery information, the cows are indeed well treated. They have access to outdoors most of the time and given that they are based in CA, it's the majority of time. The caveat though is that the cows seem to be fed some grains. This may be a small % of their diet and the feed is all organic, but the fact is that the cows do not have a 100% grass-fed diet.
