Realistic, leaving out unwanted and irrelevent stuff. Direct and to the point. It is sad that someone who has helped end the war was harassed so much and had to commit suicide. Benedict is perfect as Turing and all the other actors have also done a great job. Rather discriminatory that it did not get the Oscar. It was to be expected. If someone like Turing can be killed for being different, it is logical that other silly movies will get the oscar. This is a movie everybody can see and appreciate. I would recommend everyone to watch it and understand the ways of this world... Review: Outstanding product.... - the imatation game is a historical thriller film directed by Morten Tyldum. Excellent story with brilliant cast and amazing performance from Benedict Cumberbatch. If you don't know the story of Alan Turing the father of computers than this movie will definitely open your eyes to it and tell a brilliant true story of how it started. Necessity is the mother of invention and this story certainly proves that. The tight storyline keeps a good pace of the movie and keeps you interested and attentive all along.

A CLASSIC PERIOD MOVIE This movie is about a man, who is determined to acheive his goal, despite severe objection/rejection to his project and finally suceeding to be a key player in defecting Nazis in WW - II during the flag end of the war. Brillant performance from Benedict and narration and screenplay is vivid and straight forward.

a sad story
I thought I should watch it as a computer major. After I watched it, I feel pity on geek ... it means to myself also. A good mathematician worked very hard for his own country to win a war. Then, he cannot get happiness, love, success, respect, or anything while he was alive. I knew Turing machine. I did not know such a sad story behind it.

I’ve watched this movie many times, and I never get tired of watching it. SPOILER ALERT!!! The story of the very complex enigma machine is a fascinating one, and the fact that Alan Turing figured out how to decode it is mind boggling. He helped win WW2 for the allies, and saved millions of lives by doing so.

I have to admit that it was only in the 80's that I became aware of Alan Turing and his work. And that, ironically enough, was through a stage play called Breaking the Rules. This film goes further into the debt that the Allies owed to Turing and his co-workers and makes the tragedy of the homophobia that led to his early death even more stark. It has its flaws. I don't think that the Keira Kneightley story line was successful. It smacked of trying to combine some sort of perverse desire to incorporate an acceptable "love interest" with a lame attempt to acknowledge the efforts of the women who worked at Bletchley. That may be unjust, but that's how it came across to me. But overall it's an interesting, and, I think, an important film, which in some quarters has been dismissed as just one more example of a bio-pic about "another handicapped white male genius". That view of the movie appalled me on two fronts. For one thing, in a society which still shrinks from any form of physical or mental handicap and seems to wish to pigeon hole the afflicted into little boxes and leave them there, I think there is a place for films which demonstrate people who are actually handicapped overcoming those odds to achieve success in their chosen field. It's trivialising the issues involved to the extreme to simply dismiss such movies because the people involved happen to be white males. But more critically, it simply outraged me that the writer who threw out the comment was so ignorant or so bigoted or just plain stupid that they considered Turing's homosexuality as a "handicap" in any but a social sense. To class homosexuality, as they did, with Hawking's ALS or Nash's schizophrenia is simply abhorrent, and actually demonstrates even more the need for such movies, because that thinking belongs back in the 50's when Turing was treated to abysmally by the country he had helped, perhaps more than any other individual, to save.

Excellent film. D'après une histoire vraie . Les acteurs sont excellents. Le scénario n'est cependant pas assez fouillé
