I wanted a way to mount a Vortex scope on my AR-15 clone with detachable carry handle without having to remove the carry handle, and this is designed specifically for that purpose. The rail is composed of only two pieces, the rail itself and the thumb nut, so the first thing I did was to ensure no oils were on both parts with pure acetone before installing. The rail then went on top of the carry handle, with the clamp screw through the vertical hole in the carry handle, then I applied a drop of blue Loc-Tite to the screw before putting the thumb nut on it, snugging it down as far as I could get it by hand, then using a piece of thin cloth to protect it from scratches while giving it an additional half turn with a pair of Channel locks. I then installed a set of quick-detach rings and the scope, again degreasing all fasteners before applying a drop of Loc-Tite to them, then I set it aside for a few days to allow the Loc-Tite to cure fully before taking it to the range. It didn't take long at all to get it fully sighted in and shooting decent groups. One little bonus is that the underside of this rail has a channel that can allow use of the existing iron sights if you need to in a pinch, but I found it tough to get a good view of the sights. With that said, if I needed to use my sights because of a damaged scope or some other unplanned reason, I would simply detach the whole thing all at once using the thumb nut and go to work.

Appears to be well made product bit the pins securing mounting bolt to rail were roughly installed and took a little filing to get mount to seat properly in rail. Was rocking front to back as the rough ends of the pins were impacting inside edges of rail/carry handle. A few minutes filing and smoothing these out led to very nice fit. Company needs to check on this.

Good product - nicely finished, and mounts perfectly on my carry handle. There are some faint tooling marks on the section that fits into the top of the carry handle, but they’re hidden, anyway. Am happy with this purchase.

It hold zero fine of you crank it down, no problems there. If you just want to throw a red dot on a fixed carry handle upper this will do in a pinch. However it doesn't perfectly line up with any of the carry handles I've put it in. It looks "off." It's always a little to the left or too the right- always slight crooked one way or another. I think the tolerances are just off, which makes sense at this price point so I can't bash it too hard. Like I said, if you need a cheap and quick way to fit a reflex or holographic sight on your carry-handle AR it'll work. But I wouldn't advise putting any scopes on it or even trying to sight a dot in at long range- I feel like it could be too far out of adjustable one way or another to be able to sight in properly. I gave mine away, it wasn't useful to me.
