For 9 bucks, this is a pretty good deal. Obviously, these aren't going to be on par with the kind of compasses "professionals" would use, but they both do point north. It's a little finicky to get them to point north, but that's just a matter of getting the compass level. The bevel does twist which is a good feature, and it, as well as the needle glows in the dark. The compass can be taken out of the brass case, which is nice if you want to place it over a map (although this isn't the type of compass you'd want to use to read a map) Overall, I would buy this again. It'll make a nice accessory for my pirate outfit.

IT IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA WHEN YOU ARE HUNTING IN THE WOODS TO CARRY A COMPASS FOR IN CASE YOU LOOSE TRACK OF THE DIRECTION TO GET BACK TO CAMP THAT AT LEAST IT CAN POINT TO THE DIRECTION YOU NEED TO GO IF YOU MADE A NOTE BEFORE YOU LEFT THE CAMP OF THE DIRECTION YOUR CAMP IS.

The quality was good. The size and compass function was good.

I have no idea how this compass has such high reviews. This came as a twin pack, and neither of them worked. You are supposed to rotate the top dial to line up the “N” to the direction the needle is facing to find your direction, and with both compasses... spinning that dial moved the needle in the process.

I ordered these and also a magnet kit for kids, so between shipping and my kids playing with both at the same time, the compasses are completely demagnetized, which I honestly expected, just not this quickly 😂 now we get to incorporate into our homeschool lesson how to remagnetize a compass! Overall, worth it. Plus my kids like to play pirates and adventurers so multipurpose 😂

I clipped these from a carabiner on my backpack and both ended up breaking at the metal loop part. They would probably work great on a necklace (though a bit heavy) but I wouldn't use the loop to clip them on something where they might get jarred. I chose the design because of the shiny classic look to get elementary kids interested in using compasses at summer camp, however they are a bit hard to read and I can't figure out the point of the sliding ring labeling, it confuses the kids. Would be nicer with large NSEW labeling that isn't duplicated on the inside and the ring. But that was my fault for not considering before buying. They do look cool for sure, not the most accurate compass ever but not terrible either.

These are made of metal and although they may not be spot on accurate. They work ok and are durable. I bought for kids to play with. If you are purchasing to use as a toy these are perfect if you are purchasing to find your way home, you may want something different

The overall build quality is good. However, the magnetic needles have difficulty in pointing north, freely. It depends on how you hold the compass. You need to adjust the holding angle so that needle can move freely. That said, one out of the two works much better. I was thinking of returning them but for that price, I'm ok to adjust the holding angles sometimes. 3 stars for quality 1 star for price and ease of use.
