Good product, plants love it.
I’m trying to end my love/hate relationship with rockwool. I heard good things from a friend and decided to try this coir. The bocks are very convenient but didn’t expand as much as I thought and was finer cut/grind than I expected. I use it with hydroponic drip system 75/25 with perlite. That mix has worked out very well. I had to add screens to the pump and drain because bits of coir washed out of the pots, especially at first. At this point it works fine, now that the initial washout is over and screens are in place. I probably will go with a different medium for drip systems because of the washout mess, but would happily use it other types of hydroponics or aeroponics as a starter medium. Even though some of what I wrote seems negative, any issues were a result of my lack of understanding about the product. I went in hoping for something like rockwool, but safe and compostable. Coir is not that. I will happily use it again for some applications now that I know what to expect from the coir bricks. I don’t have enough experience with coir to recommend it vs other brands of coir. All I can say is my plants are thriving.

Decent product.
Our plants seem to grow well, and had decent drainage. This product was of good quality and it had good water retention.

amazing price
These coco coir bricks are amazing for repotting and seed starting. They expand so much once you add water, and the texture is perfect — light, fluffy, and holds moisture really well without getting soggy. I used them as part of my soil mix with perlite and bark, and my plants are loving it. It’s also great that it’s organic and free from chemicals. Each brick goes a long way, and the packaging was neat and compact. Great quality for the price!

Amazing Quality – A Must-Have for Gardeners!
I was really impressed with the quality of this Cococoir. It arrived clean with no unwanted dust particles and absolutely no unpleasant smell—just a natural, earthy coconut husk scent, which I really liked. It expands about 2.5 times its original size when hydrated, which makes it super efficient and easy to store. The texture is perfect for improving aeration and drainage, which has made a big difference in the health of my plants. Plus, its water retention is incredible—holds up to 10 times its weight in water! If you’re into gardening or need a reliable growing medium, this is definitely worth trying. Highly recommended!

DOES NOT EXPAND AS ADVERTISED!!!
DOES NOT EXPAND AS ADVERTISED. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! DOES NOT HOLD ONTO WATER! LEAKS LIKE CRAZY! DO NOT USE IN GROW BAGS! YOU'LL BE STUCK WATERING MORE OFTEN AND IF YOU USE SEAL CONTAINER, YOU'LL GET WATERLOG WITH ROOT ROT.

Killed my isopods
Nearly filled a 12QT container, so a decently sized amount for the price. It absorbed the water quickly and basically tripled the amount that came packaged. It has a strong chemical smell though, which is a bit concerning since I’m using it for isopods. Giving 4 stars since it has a weird smell. If you buy this, I recommend you slowly add water, let it absorb, then add more water until you get the consistency you want. If you add too much water it gets soupy and takes forever to dry out. EDIT: This killed my isopods! The isopods I have in a different substrate are doing fine, but the ones I had in this died! I do not recommend using this for any live animals.

Didn't notice the expanded volume, but there's no weird smell, just reminiscent of coconut. I've been making my own potting mix from coir for a couple of years, just wet, mix with some perlite and add plant food. Unlike bags of moist potting mix, it doesn't come with a population of fungus gnats. Awesome stuff.

It never ceases to amaze me how much this product expands when water is added. It amends the soil well and helps maintain moisture for plants
