Nice small weighty axe but be aware it's not the sharpest tool in your box I'd hone it when you get it to a real edge

Bearing in mind the price of other solid one piece axes i.e. from Estwing. You could do a lot worse than thinking of buying this one from silverline for about 1/3 the price. What I liked the most is that the head profile is a nice general purpose wedge shape which gives a kindling axe a good around purpose. However the axe comes in a far too blunt an angle at the bit, and so the axe will need to be reprofiled to about 20 degrees on the primary bevel for chopping. I used a angle grinder, taking care not to over heat the edge, a nice file will also work. I bought two samples and both had a crooked heel on the cutting bit which ironically helped splitting small rounds the toe of the cutting bit was fine on both samples. The steel is on the soft side, and inline with most axes at this price point, I don't mind a softer steel. I will add that in use it does pull on the wrist a little, and the impact under use travels up the handle, always a negative for these one piece axes and or axes in general with prolonged use. But with use now and again and or simple kindling it shouldn't be a issue.

Thing of beauty! Not actually used it yet, it's just too nice to get dirty! Sharpened my old one instead, will keep this for household protection, I think.

I needed this for chopping kindling from logs. It’s quite heavy which results in a more powerful strike. Rubber slightly cushioned handle and very sharp. Very good value

Habe versucht die "Schneide" gut dar zu stellen auf den Bildern. Posetiv: der Griff hat zwar eine ganz andere Farbe, stinkt aber nicht. Scheint nach gebessert worden zu sein. Der Anschliff ist ein Witz, so kann man es zum Ziegel zurecht klopfen verwenden, aber nicht für Holz. Gut gemeinte 3 Sterne für den geringen Preis. Zum Stahl kann ich noch nix sagen.

Confermo quanto accaduto a Daniele riguardo il manico blu. Anche a me è stata inviata così ed avrei preferito averla col manico nero. Riguardo la sua funzionalità non posso dire nulla perché ancora non è stata testata, ma appena verrà fatto lo scriverò. Consegna come sempre rapida e puntuale negli standard Amazon.

El modelo es muy original, pero está mal compensada, pesa mucho, los acabados son pésimos, venía sin afilar (parecía un martillo). Pero el acero es bastante decente con un afilado se le puede dar uso. RECOMIENDO SE LE PONGA UN CORDON DE SEGURIDAD que se agarre a la mano. Porque con su ergonomía es fácil que se escape.
