Does it use the same refills as the original pet convincer (pet convincer 1)?

Both the Original Pet Convincer and the Pet Convincer II use 16g, threaded, food grade (99.95%) CO2 Cartridges. The cartridges thread onto the head assembly first and then the handle ( hard or soft plastic) is attached to the head assembly second. Please follow each Pet Convincer's User Guide / instructions for proper operation of these pet behavior modification devices.

i see the original and this one are made differently. Which one is better?

What is the difference between 1 and 2? The cartridge didn't last long for the 1.

Hello Christopher, From looking at the pictures on Amazon, I have the Pet Convincer 2. Mine does not have sound. I do not use the horn attachment. I am still on my first canister after a year, so I can't tell you how long a canister lasts. I have it with me on every walk, in a small pouch that also contains treats, keys, plastic bags and iPhone. I keep it for emergencies, like a dog fight, or if my dog won't drop something that might be harmful. My dog is trained well and this is not a training enhancer for me. My dog trainer showed me how to use this device, and said to use it sparingly or the dog gets used to it. Once I saw the dog trainer use it as follows: at the dog park, one dog wouldn't give up the other dog's toy, and the owners wanted to leave. The dogs were nose to nose. The dog trainer quietly removed the device from his pocked, kept it hidden in his hand, and gave one spray of air. The two surprised dogs looked up, and when the one dropped the toy the dog trainer grabbed it and handed it to the owners. "How did you do that?" they asked! He didn't say but just smiled. Is there something in this item that's supposed to peirce the cartridge in order for it to work

It should simply click/lock into place.
