Immediate performance increase.
I've been running the same system and same storage since 2018, a standard HDD and SSD boot drive combo. Over the last year I've noticed a significant drop in performance with applications and games. I attributed this to my hard drive where those programs were stored due to it's slow read and write speeds when i monitored them.I finally chose to purchase a new larger SSD to store games and applications and decided on this SSD as it was well reviewed, well priced and boasted some good specs. The installation was easy, apart from my own hiccup. When installing, make sure other storage drives are plugged into sata ports that won't be disabled when inserting a new SSD. Checking your motherboard's manual will let you know which sata ports will be unusable. Once that issue was sorted, I checked the BIOS, confirmed the SSD was recognised. Launched the PC, found the drive and partitioned it. It was ready to go.Since moving some video games like fortnite and valorant, I've noticed much faster loading times, reduced lag and no crashes. If you're having similar issues with performance, I highly recommend picking up one of these.

large storage capacity, solid Gen4 performance, and great value
The Crucial P3 Plus 4TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD is an affordable, high-capacity storage option that delivers solid performance for a range of users, from gamers to content creators. With its large 4TB capacity and Gen4 speed, it’s designed to handle intensive workloads and massive data storage without breaking the bank. Let’s dive into the details of its performance, features, and overall value.Design and Build QualityAs with most M.2 NVMe drives, the Crucial P3 Plus features a slim, compact form factor, designed to fit seamlessly into laptops, desktops, and even gaming consoles that support M.2 slots. It follows the standard 2280 form factor (22mm wide, 80mm long), which ensures compatibility with a wide range of motherboards. While the design is simple, it’s worth noting that the P3 Plus doesn’t come with an integrated heatsink. If you’re planning to use this drive in a high-performance gaming rig or workstation, additional coolingPerformancePowered by the PCIe Gen4 interface, the Crucial P3 Plus SSD promises faster speeds than its Gen3 predecessors. However, it’s important to note that the P3 Plus is a more budget-oriented Gen4 drive, so it doesn’t quite hit the top-tier speeds of premium drives like Crucial’s P5 Plus or other high-end models.Crucial advertises sequential read speeds of up to 5000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 4200 MB/s. In real-world testing, the P3 Plus holds up well, delivering reliable performance for most common tasks, such as gaming, video editing, and large file transfers. For everyday users and gamers, these speeds are more than sufficient, providing fast boot times, quick load times for applications and games, and smooth overall system responsiveness. While it's not the fastest Gen4 SSD on the market, the P3 Plus still takes full advantage of PCIe 4.0, offering significantly faster speeds than any PCIe 3.0 drives. This makes it an excellent upgrade for those moving from a SATA or older NVMe drive.Capacity and Use CasesWith 4TB of storage, the Crucial P3 Plus is an ideal solution for users who need plenty of space for large files, such as video editors, photographers, or gamers with extensive game libraries. The large capacity is perfect for managing high-resolution media files, 4K videos, or large game installations without worrying about running out of space.Reliability and DurabilityCrucial has a solid reputation for producing reliable and durable SSDs, and the P3 Plus is no exception. It uses QLC (Quad-Level Cell) NAND flash, which typically offers a good balance between affordability and performance, though it might not match the endurance levels of higher-end TLC-based SSDs.The drive offers 800 TBW (terabytes written) endurance, which should be more than enough for average consumers. Even with heavy usage, it would take years to reach this limit, making it a good long-term storage solution. Crucial backs the P3 Plus with a 5-year warranty, further reinforcing its reliability.Pricing and ValueOne of the standout features of the Crucial P3 Plus 4TB SSD is its affordable price compared to other Gen4 drives in its class. It delivers strong performance and high capacity at a competitive price point, making it a great option for users looking to expand their storage without paying the premium that comes with top-tier Gen4 models. While there are faster Gen4 SSDs available, they typically come at a much higher cost, and for many users, the performance difference will be negligible in everyday scenarios. The P3 Plus strikes a great balance between price and performance, making it an excellent value for gamers, content creators, and general users.Final VerdictThe Crucial P3 Plus 4TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD is a fantastic option for users looking for large storage capacity, solid Gen4 performance, and great value. While it doesn’t compete with the very fastest Gen4 drives on the market, it provides more than enough speed for most tasks, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious consumers who still want to enjoy the benefits of PCIe 4.0 technology.Pros:Large 4TB storage capacityGood performance for PCIe Gen4, especially at the priceAffordable compared to other Gen4 SSDsCompact form factor with wide compatibility5-year warranty and solid reliabilityCons:No integrated heatsink (may require additional cooling)QLC NAND may have lower endurance compared to higher-tier drivesNot as fast as premium Gen4 SSDsOverall, the Crucial P3 Plus offers a great mix of storage capacity, performance, and affordability, making it an excellent choice for those needing a high-capacity SSD for gaming, creative work, or general use.

Used as an external backup drive, excellent performance
I bought this 2TB Crucial P3 Plus SSD to use as an external backup storage drive to my PC. Installation in a SABRENT M.2 NVMe Enclosure was completed within a couple of minutes and connects to the PC via USB C. An initial format was required before Windows would recognise the new drive. This (external) SSD is around ten times faster than the 8-year-old external hard drive I was using before. It is available to use almost instantly after plugging it in and is absolutely silent in use. The metal enclosure it is installed in gets a little warm with prolonged writing to the SSD but nothing too concerning. All in all this SSD makes a very welcome upgrade to my backup regime and well worth the expense given the time it saves me. With ample storage space I anticipate using it for a good few years. In summary I am very pleased with both the Crucial SSD's speed and performance and the fact I don't need to use cloud storage which I have security and environmental concerns about.

Fantastic drive.
So i have been using this m.2 drive for some time now and it has been fantastic, has i find it much faster than my old m.2 drive even when using gen 3 speeds. No issues with loading into games or downloading data, easy to install and easy to setup and clone from other m.2 drive with the software that crucial provide on their website. I highly recommend this drive for anyone looking a upgrade from their old m.2, or adding another to their setup.

It’s the size that counts
Some people may think that they can use this as a 512 gb chip, it’s not, it’s 500gb. Otherwise, a good product.

Dast, reliable, does what it should and does it well
Nice and fast, large cache, great for my video editing.I move a lot of files around, some of my videos are 25-30GB and the cache on this means I can move them easily without having to wait ten mintues. An absolute godsend.
