Great for carpentry and mechanical work
A very handy addition to any tool kit - I use this more than I thought I would. The blue is very deep so you can easily see it on the items marked. I even use it for tile jobs.

Great for setting the backlash on axles
Just switched the ring and pinion from a 3:42 to a 3:08 and this was ideal for helping show the mesh pattern between the pinion and ring when I was setting the backlash. There are no clunks or wines from the new axle after using this.Great price and every bit as good as the yellow paint alternative.

Used this for a differential gear project
This is not as visible as the paste some differential install kits come with but It does the job

Works very well and easy to use
I Used it to level exhaust manifolds, apply with a paint brush to a sheet of glass and the high spots really stand out.Way better than trying to make it yourself and a little go's a long way. And you can use it on gears and bearings to check your shims. So I'll get a lot of future use out of it

Good stuff to have around.
This stuff came in handy for a few tasks on this last engine build. I was able to see where the Jesel belt drive was contacting the block to grind that part away so the cover set flush. I was also able to use some contrasting Dykem on my intake manifold and use this on my intake gaskets installed on the heads to see how much was needed to be massaged in the intake so that the ports matched my cylinder heads. So this is something that’s good to have around. Especially if your going to be building an engine and you have many aftermarket parts as with stacked tolerances ya never know what you might need to tweak or adjust to make things fit or do it works.

Less expensive than 'standard' die-makers bluing yet works well
I bought this for use with my machinists granite plate while checking the flatness of various tools in my shop that need to be really flat. This was a fair bit cheaper than what is labeled as the 'proper' stuff yet seems to do the same job. I use a rubber brayer to roll out a small amount onto my granite plate and then transfer the ink to the high spots on any given tool to know where the high spots are. One example is when assessing the flatness of an old cast-iron hand plane that I might buy at a flea market. This could be messy if mis-handled but seems easy to clean up with a little mineral spirits on a paper towel.
