Great value, very good quality… does the job!
The media could not be loaded. I have not owned or handled the authentic Benchmade SOCP dagger so I don’t have a complete reference comparison to make. However, the quality of this clone is exceptionally good especially considering the $20 price tag I paid for it from Amazon prime with free shipping. Is the Benchmade SOCP worth an additional $100? If I could afford it, the extra hundred dollars would have been worth it to support an American made product and an American design that is being knocked off unfortunately and I’m guilty of supporting that. But I am not a special forces operator or LEO, just a middle-age guy with a dad bod who wants one extra layer of self defense protection in addition to my EDC pistol.I’ve seen a few complaints of retention in the sheath, mine has no problem at all. The retention is tight and gives a positive click and felt resistance when the blade is inserted or withdrawn from the sheath. Perhaps there are some quality control variations and if you receive one with poor retention, I think you can fix it by putting a heat gun or hair blower at the middle point of the sheath and pressing in so that it tightens against the blade. See my video on that. Overall, it is an incredibly well thought out design and this clone seems to match the quality of the original other than a different finish. When clipped inside the waistband in an angle, it is fairly comfortable to sit with it in place. However, the loop Tang of the knife does cut into my gut a little because I have a little extra around the waist. Bench made makes a square leather pad that should fit and cost $10 on their website which I will probably get. For the price you can’t go wrong..

Awesome alternative to an expensive one
Curious about this style but not wanting to pay Benchmade price. Turns out this is a great option. I have it for one purpose. It is not designed as a utility knife. Its a last ditch item. Easily concealable in appendix carry. A bit uncomfortable while seated but you can move it to a better position.

I like it for what it is.
It works very well. The plastic part that holds the knife is excellent quality. The blade material itself is not excellent quality. It feels a little bit like tin. It will sharpen easily but I suspect it will not be very durable. That size and shape work well. It will do for a stab and jab sort of thing. But it is not a good blade for much work. But it will do the job you might imagine it doing.

Just as good as the real deal for it's intended purpose.
Looks, feels and works for its intended purpose just as good as the name brand. Fits perfect in molle. Great value.

Handle and ring are razor sharp, never deburred, unfinished junk.
Usually in the manufacturing process you deburr or knock the edge off any steel before coating it. This knife has a "as-is" finish as it came off the laser cutter, immediately coated and skipped the IMPORTANT step in between. It is unfinished and will need to be "finished". I traced the entire edge with a dremel and fine wheel to remove the razor sharp edge. If it wasnt stainless I would send it back, but since its supposedly stainless having a polished exposed edge should not rust or corrode. This is the result of uneducated and cheap manufacturers. The sheath fits nice, and snug. The last 2 pics are after dremeling the edge and 400 sand paper. What a joke.... but its cheap, get what you pay for. Just a laser cut piece of steel powder coated with no prep or finishing. At least i wont cut myself on the handle now.

Benchmade clone
It's a Benchmade clone, but I specifically went for this because Benchmade also wants crazy prices for the SOCP dagger. The main thing I noticed between this and the real one, is that the sheath is much harder to use, so if you are using this for self defense, that's something worth considering. But overall pleased with my purchase, looks just like the real thing at like 10% of the price.

If only the sheath was as good as the knife...
To answer the obvious question, yes, the knife is a decent budget version of Benchmade's SOCP. Unfortunately, the sheath detracts from the value. Mine had the screws that hold the pocket clip strip out after a week of carrying it. The sheath is also too tight a fit to work as a spare sheath for an SOCP. The knife itself is well executed, and being single edge makes it legal to carry in most areas. Finish is surprisingly good, and it's acceptably sharp for it's intended purpose. if you can't afford the real thing, this can be made to work.

Worth the money
Got mine in yesterday. Took a chance on it with all the retention issues in the back of my mind. The retention on mine is just about where I'd want it. Matter of fact I'd like it to be even more snug. Mine will not come out unwanted even when running with my outer carrier on. I've read the complaints about it not being sharpened on both sides. This is an implement meant for sticking, not cutting. And as the only thing I would use this for is the "last effort" tool? It will do exactly that. Both edges being "sharpened" would not add too, nor does it take away from, what this tool is intended for. Like someone trying to get my duty weapon and I need to dissuade them from their course of action. It's so low profile on my outer carrier that unless you're looking for it? Most won't know it's there. I bought this over the "name brand" because the price on that one made my eyes water. A few other cops on my department have the "name brand" item, and no, this is not the same quality. But is it worth the 20 something is spent? Yes. Will it do the "sticky" it needs to do? Yes. This is not an "open boxes" or "bushcraft" knife. This a very mission specific knife that is meant to do one thing. Glad I bought it. Oh. 18 years as a street cop and still active. 12 years active duty military prior to that. The Benchmade one is NOT worth the C-note they want for it. This is worth the 20 something they ask.
