The Amazing beast Arbor press...
I read the reviews and I have to say, the reviews don't do this press justice. Its a beast 💪 this vevor press is amazing. I ordered this press because I've always wanted a larger arbor press I've checked into other ones, but just couldn't bring myself to pay 1500.00 to 4,000.00 dollars on the press and then I saw this amazing beast, with nice cast finished painted for 215.00 and No sharp edges and it took me about 10 minutes to mount it to my bench and make the needed adjustments. Don't believe these reviews that talk about sharp edges or not a good finish. Thank you to the great company that made the press and thank to the company that sold the press and thank you to the young men who delivered the item to the inside of the house. It made it bearable. Thank you again fast shipping absolutely the best price for such an amazing tool.

Arrived promptly, works as advertised.
Item arrived promptly, and after the normal adjustment they all need, works perfectly. Pretty good deal if you need one of these for your shop or crafting area.

Cheapest 1 Ton arbor press. Works but do not expect perfection.
Ordered on May 2 and received May 10. VEVOR Arbor Press, 1 Ton Manual Arbor Press, 5.9" Maximum Height, Cast Iron Heavy-duty Manual Desktop Arbor Press, Precision Hand Press for Stamping, Bending, Stretching, Forming ($53.99) Shipping box intact which is impressive for such a heavy-pointy item. Some plywood panels lined the inside of the box and that explains why it arrived in good condition. Very greasy and oily, which is EXPECTED for budget cast iron import. Oil and grease are not only REQUIRED for operation but they prevent corrosion (rust). No rust on the press I received. ALL parts present, nothing missing. First thing I did was disassemble to inspect the parts. Splines on the shaft were cut clean and so were teeth on the ram shaft. No "gibs", just bare adjustment screws to tune out slop. Not unexpected but I didn't want to use the press that way. A little too grindy. I chopped up a few scraps of UHMWPE to make 2 gibs, front and side, for the screws to press on. Cleaned up factory lube and added some "quality heavy bearing grease" to all the moving parts. Installed my UHMWPE gibs and reassembled. NOW the adjustment screws push on the UHMWPE and the ram shaft glides on the UHMWPE. No mechanical slop at all and no more grinding. Press appears to be well built and now operates very smoothly. My only complaint (-1 star) is the press ram-to-base alignment is a little off-center. Another customer has a photo showing the misalignment. Many of the castings are likely to have the same offset. Not a show-stopper here and not bad enough to return. This press will work for me. I'm just disappointed it wasn't a little more centered. It was the CHEAPEST 1-Ton arbor press I could find so imperfections are not a surprise. -1 star from 5 because ram alignment to base is a little off-center. 4 stars overall.

Excellent Arbor Press for the Price
This arbor press is a real good press for the price. This is not a precision instrument by an means. But I did not expect super high quality. I hoped for a serviceable small arbor press and that's what I got. The machining was much better than I expected. It was heavily covered in grease for shipping and had to be cleaned thoroughly. There was no debris found in the machined threads on the body of the press, but I cleaned them out anyway. There was no shim between the ram and the adjustment screws through the body so I made one from a scrap of thin sheet metal. (The shim keeps the screws from directly contacting the ram so the they don't gauge the ram.) The base was ever so slightly uneven on the bench. About three passes with a file and it now sits flat on my work bench. I also did the ram "ratchet" mod as seen on YouTube so I can get the handle in position for best leverage. I spent about an hour and a half cleaning up and modding the press. Now it's ready to be used as a fret press in my gutiar building shop. I rated it five stars because this arbor press is better than I expected for $50. In my opinion, any craftsman needs to know how to tweak his tools for best performance. This press is a great basic press for a low price ready to be put to good use with a few tweaks. Spend way more money if you want a high quality press that will still require some user setup. But, if you need a serviceable press that you only use occasionaly than I recommend this one. BTW, the first press arrived broken with obvious shipping damage to the packaging. The vendor shipped this replacement within the same day I reported the return.

It's good to go if you can get it for the right price.
I bought this as a used item, but it was in newish condition... It is packaged in a box that has internal wood sleeves to protect it during shipping. Also, it's not a big deal, but it definitely has a lot of Grease in certain exposed metal areas. And that's for preserving it from rust and such so it makes total sense and totally appropriate. If I had to do it all over again I would buy this again. One thing is the handle is adequate but I wish it was a little bit more robust. I don't have complete confidence when I try to press it at maximum pressure. Perhaps I may be overdoing it so I'm not really taking off any stars for that. Also, this may not apply to this type of press, but I do wish it came with a type of plate that you could put on there to make the base nice and flat instead of just that little star spinning thing that has holes in it. That would be my only wish is that it came with the metal plate.

Nice press for the price, missing parts out of the box.
Update: Three weeks after contacting Vevor customer service and they are still telling me it will be "a few weeks". If you get a bum unit, skip customer service and return it. Seems like a decent unit, IF it isn't missing a critical part. If it had come with everything it was supposed to, this would be a five star rating. I have it jury rigged and mostly working while I wait two weeks for a component from VEVOR. When I got it, I checked the pinion against the milled deck with a calibrated machinist square and found it to be technically off, but close enough that it doesn't matter for anything I'm ever going to do with this thing. If you really need ultra precision, this is not the machine for you, unless you want to screw around with shimming the pinion up and re-milling the castings. If you're not sure if you need that level of precision, you do not. I specifically ordered the model with the handwheel. It arrived missing the half moon key for the handwheel, making the handwheel pointless. I checked inside the bag that the manual comes in, hoping it would be in there, and noticed as I was doing so that the manual was for a different model of press (no handwheel). After contacting VEVOR customer support and supplying all of the pictures and information they needed, they said it will take 10-15 days on top of the 4 days spent dealing with customer service to receive a replacement key, because they have to ship the key (a piece of metal smaller than a penny) on the slow boat from China. That's three weeks that I can't use the thing for its intended purpose. Thankfully I can keep it put together enough to function with the lever arm. VEVOR, consider stocking small parts somewhere in the US. I should have just returned this thing as defective and hoped the replacement had all the parts, but by the time I realized it was going to take so long, I had already burned the box.

Ran into some issues but customer service eventually made it right
The ram that came with it had an off-center hole and it was a bit painful getting a replacement – had to send pictures multiple times, describe the issue, start over, repeat, etc. – but eventually they sent me a replacement part. Since then, this press has been fantastic and I highly recommend it. I deducted one star for having to wait over a month, but in the end they did the right thing and shipped a replacement ram. The product itself is great and I recommend it, the size is right for my shop and it's super durable – easy to put together and really heavy, high-quality materials. I use mine for pressing frets into guitar fret boards and it works great for that.
