Excellent Resource- You may want to Buy Loose Leaf with Stat Lab
I had to buy this book for a statistics class I am taking for my masters. Math and statistics overall have not been the strongest courses for me so I was concerned I may have difficulty with the material. The book was very well laid out and there are a series of videos that go along with each section of the book that are offered by Pearson. They are at a separate website.(My Stat Lab which apparently is supposed to be a separately purchased product although my school had the videos available by themselves through Blackboard- So if your school uses Blackboard check with your instructor. This is one thing I loath about Pearson, they charge you 150.00 for a book then want more for stat lab. If you get the e version to begin with through Pearson you only have access to it for so long then it is gone. It also is a pain to read online. I do not recommend using Pearson's online site for the book if you can avoid it, I used it for my economics class and it was a major hassle) If you do want it then I recommend the loose leaf 12th Edition of this book that comes with the stat lab access and ebook which is about another 20-30 dollars. This book is heavy which can make lugging it around a hassle. With the loose leaf at least you can pull the chapters you want to carry around with you more easily. The hardcover book also comes with a disk that includes stat disk and has all of the tables for the various exercises loaded in the back of the book. (I bought mine new so I don't know if you can be sure you will get it with a used book) I intend on keeping this book for the long term as an excellent resource. Between the stat disk, excel and a decent calculator you can manage all of the formulas and exercises in the book. There are exercises for each section and at the end of each chapter. There are only answers to the odd numbered questions for these exercises in the back of the book. I think there is another booklet with the remaining answers you can buy to give you the even numbered answers but I opted not to buy it at the beginning of the course. (Halfway through the course I am wishing I had so I would have extra questions to practice with).

very good classical treatment of elementary statistics
I find that this book provides a lot of good and interesting "classical" material on statistics for the student. There are two main goals for an elementary statistics course: basic understanding of the nature of statistics and an introduction to the computational technology for statistics. It is important to understand concepts, methods and techniques and their motivations as best one can when working at an elementary and "hands-on" level such as this textbook focuses on. With respect to both understanding and technology, the book by Professor Triola opens doors for the student. With the computer revolution, we have also had a revolution in computational statistics, and the classical treatment in the text, which in my view is excellent, needs to be supplemented a bit. However, other than that, I believe that, this textbook is quite suitable for a basic and computationally-oriented course in elementary statistics.

Very good used textbook and cheaper than the University bookstore by a mile
The book itself is just fine. It is what my wife was required to use for her school class. What I do love about it though is that it was $150 cheaper on Amazon than from the school bookstore so I definitely consider that a win! I thought about renting it from Amazon which I have done in the past, but it just made the most sense to buy a used copy. I am pleased with the purchase.

One of the best introductory books I've ever read
I bought this book for a class I'm taking. This is one of the best introductory books I have EVER read. Many of my classmates agree that the concepts are made very simple and clear. Triola teaches through humor, examples, flow charts, simple lists. I feel like he covered his bases because he knows that different people learn through different means. He also does a good job of highlighting the key concepts - there are 20 concepts that he wants you to walk away and remember. The only thing that is a little frustrating is that some of the concepts are based on complicated math and he often says the math is beyond the scope of the book so he doesn't spend any time on it. It makes me feel a little paranoid that I'm missing something.

Excellent book for learn to understand statistics. When to use, what are the limitations, and how to interpret results
-Well written and clear. Adds many sample asides to the text that some how manages to add to the already interesting examples.-The problems choose from a variety of topics, allowing the reader to pick the questions that are most relevant or interesting to their line of work.-The author is kind enough to offers an explanation of how to use up to 6 different technologies to solve each sections type of problems.-Focus is less on where the formulas come from and more on their basic requirements, limitations, and, ultimately, the proper interpretation of its results

The stats are in...
Elementary, my dear Watson. Statistics indicate that this college textbook is a great way to brush up on or learn all about statistics. I did not need the book for a course, so bought a used previous edition for 1/10th the price of the current edition. How much can statistics change in two years?

Hell No!
This book is mind-numbingly boring. For me it is LITERALLY unreadable. It's awful.I have learned mathematics by reading used books like this before. So the problem is not that I am lazy or unmotivated. The problem is this book. I caught myself day dreaming while trying to get through the paragraphs upon paragraphs that are used to explain mundane things. They actually had some math in chapter two followed by more mundane paragraphs. I skipped ahead to the middle just to see and you guessed it, more mundane paragraphs. It was like a living nightmare being half way through section 1.4 and noticing that both sides of the open book are wall to wall text that are completely uninteresting and you know you wont remember. An absolutely horrible book if you want something you can read to learn statistics.I found 0-697-06979-6 at half price books for $11 and it actually reads like a math book. Personally, I am going to try that. Triola's book is unreadable.

Good condition
The book was in good condition; a bit of use on the edges, but not worse than described. Shipped quickly.
