Wonderful shade!
This shade floater has a couple negatives (mostly big & bulky), but after 5 minutes under it, in the pool, it gets five stars plus! I can go out to the pool on an extreme UV day, without SPF clothes, and actually relax, even nap! One problem, easily solved: the arching poles at the corners would bounce on the edge of the cement pool edge from the wind, causing the canapy to tear. I got a 6' piece of half-inch foam pipe insulation; cut it into 8 pieces and slid one on each pole. Now the cabana bounces on the insulation.Haven't taken it apart yet, nor attempted to store it for winter, but if it doesn't survive that, I would definitely get another for next summer!

Solid product. Great customer service.
While this product might appear a bit spendy, it’s a solid product to chill under when the sun is beating down on the pool. It’s quite sturdy and easy to assemble (if you’re used to tent poles). I do agree with other users that the shade edges can get a bit scuffed up at the pole support, with use, but It doesn’t look like the area will fail. That’s really my only complaint. Note: We used our cabana for two days then found there was a leak in the seam of the thick, well constructed base. I contacted the seller, who texted me back right away. He said that was the first time he’d heard of a base leaking on a seam. He got the description of the issue and my info. I had a new/free base in my porch in two days. Great customer service!!!

Relief From the Scorching Sun but not a Buy-It-For-Life item
My first impression of this thing was a mixed bag. There are only three main parts:1) The inflatable tube -- excellent material, thick and durable. Much thicker than river tubes and is what i'd consider a high-quality tubing material.2) The canopy -- typical material. Began to fade after 1.5 seasons of use in Florida sun3) The "tent poles" that hold the canopy up. There's an inner and outer set of poles. The ones that support the vertical roof part are the thinnest I've ever seen. However, I've not run into any issues with them and have not seen any rust in my chlorine pool.I've disassembled and reassembled this float twice. It's not the easiest thing to put together and the directions weren't totally clear to me but everyone should be able to figure it out. Thick poles are for the outer ring (window type openings) and the thin ones are for the cross over roof section in the middle. All and all I'm very happy with this item, but I'd pay more if it were just a little bit more rugged.

Perfect
This is perfect. I can’t stay out in the sun but want to be in our pool. This works great. Set up takes some time but it is easy to figure out. Only wish the ties to keep rods in place were velcro. It would be easier to attach.

Gave up assembly after 90 minutes
I have never seen something so difficult to set up. Especially when you are at the beach and have limited time and the sun is hot. Three adults worked together following the instructions, but we couldn’t do it. Too many rods without proper labeling. An idea would be to have letters on end of each rod to match with letters on the inflatable.

Great temporary shade for a hot day
I wanted a pool shade and this fit the need. It is quite roomy inside and over hanging eaves really help keep the aun out. It can be readily taken down when it gets cooler. Now I am in the pool practically every hot day.

Read Return Details Before Purchasing!
Lost 2 poles to the bottom of the lake during assembly....THEY DO NOT FLOAT and slip out easily until you have everything in place! Another pole was broken when we took it down at the end of the day......they are definitely plastic. The premise of this product is good, but it almost seemed like a prototype instead of a finished product. We did like the pockets available inside the canopy and the size of the float itself; it provided ample shade. Only had 2 cup holders, though there was plenty of room for more. Stores to a manageable size and came with storage bag. Overall, would not buy again, but since we already have it, the return fees are high (read the fine print before purchasing!), and there is no other comparable floating shade for a group that we could find around this price point, we're going to try to find replacement poles and make it work.

My favorite pool accessory
I love the Floating Shade. This is my second one. The first one lastest around 4 years. I would stay out of my pool during the hot days and wait for the cooler afternoons , to get in the pool. The sun damage to my skin before prevented me from fully enjoying the pool. That was the main reason I bought the first one. When it began looking a little used, I knew I needed another one. It is so worth the cost. So much cheaper than covering the pool or convenient than moving umbrellas around the pool for shade during the day. Worth every dime!
