Simple and Excellent Laser
I use this laser measure for architectural surveying to create asbuilt floor and ceiling plans. I work alone and use a laser measure and a sturdy 25' measuring tape. For 10 years I had been using a very premium but heavy bricked sized Leica measuring laser, until I met a contractor in the field who had a pocket sized laser like this. I was surprised at how small they were, and in the last couple years, how affordable they were. So I made the jump and purchased a different laser from this one two years ago. However, its battery life was a little sporadic, there were a lot of features I didn’t need, and it could only measure to a 1/16 of an inch, which is more than I need. You could also change the reference point of where the laser measures from (moving it from the rear of the laser to the front). This is not helpful when you can change it without realizing it.So recently I was researching newer lasers, since I was not satisfied and I found this GLM100-23. I spent time comparing it to some of the more expensive Bosch lasers, like the one with the green beam, but eventually decided this one. I measured with it yesterday and was so pleased with it.I love the fact you can adjust the fraction amount to what you need – gone was my mental math to assign a decimal value to 1/16ths of an inch (its faster to write down the decimal than the fraction). The screen showed one measurement at a time, but was so legible! The other laser had a screen that would time out and then it became hard to read. This laser has white numbers against a black screen that doesn’t time out! The laser is so small and lightweight, you can easily hold it and the tablet at the same time. Lastly, the reference point for the laser can’t change, so there’s no way to fudge up the measurements you need. Overall this laser is EXACTLY what I needed. Also, a note: the "click wheel" is an internally displayed menu that allows you to change the measurement option (from feet, to inches, to centimeters, to millimeters, and then feet as displayed 0'-00"). You access it by long pressing the fraction button.

Pretty much perfect so far
It runs on NiMh batteries just fine, and I really like how in inches mode, it shows hundredths of an inch.I definitely hope they keep that feature in the future because it can be used to tell if something is moving, even if it's not accurate to more than 1/16.Using AAA batteries is also brilliant because that's what most other things use these days, and most of my rechargeables are AAA. I think rechargeable alkaline is better than the built-in non replaceable lithium that some use.

Quick and easy
This little tool is a time saver. When framing a wall that is not square it is a simple matter to find the length without having to pull the tape. You can adjust the accuracy down to 1/32 of an inch. I just leave it at 1/16" as that is usually close enough for rough cut lumber. Trying to read 1/32" on a tape is all but impossible. It also makes calculating square footage much faster as well. The read out on the screen is clear and easy to read in all but the brightest light. In that case, just hit the hold function and shade it a bit. The learning curve to use the tool is not steep at all. I would buy this again if I need another one.

This would be great vs a tape measure
I got this to measure room dimensions. It would have been great but it was a few inches off. I could not find a calibration routine and perhaps I got a defective unit.I had to use a tape and was done with my need so returned it.Seeing good reviews and this being a reliable brand I think they usually are accurate and I didnt have time to wait to exchange it. I have laser lavels and other accurate time saving tools and am giving it a good rating as I had no time to troubleshoot with Bosch.

Well worth it.
Easy to use and very accurate. I compared it to a tape measure and the measurement was dead on. The size of the unit makes it easy to carry.

Phenomenal and extremely user-friendly
For the price and how user-friendly this is I couldn’t be happier. Honestly it makes me want to do DIY and house projects and construction just because of how simple it is to make measurements. Yes there are better ones out there that rely on Bluetooth and can send measurements to people on the job, but if you are a DIYer and looking for a quick easy measurements with your household projects or just working in the shop. This is the perfect tool. I tested it against 10 different measured areas within my house and I could get down to a 1/32 difference. And this is absolutely 1 million times easier than doing internal measurements with the tape measure and bending the tape to try and get your nearest estimated measurement. Took me about 90 seconds to learn how to use and is absolutely perfect.
