Q: how do you charge them?

You can use Rechargeable AAA batteries and charge them in a standard AAA battery charger. Or use Disposable AAA batteries and replace them as they expire. Both types of batteries would be inserted through the plastic battery door found on the middle of the Glow Stick Body. Q: How hard can i hit with this?

Hey There, We recommend using our "Helix Case" that some with our "Helix Poi Set" if you want to hit these hard. You can search for these items on Amazon and the Set comes with everything you need to spin Poi. Kind Regards, UltraPoi

Q: How do you program them? I can only find like 6 settings & thats it.

Hey there! Yes, you have found the 6 main color modes, but these modes also have many different display options. To do this, with your Ultrapoi ON Press and Hold the Button and Do Not let go. Allow the Ultrapoi to turn off and it will return back on. It is now going to cycle through all of the options one at a time, release when you find an option you like. To program a custom color to use on the 1st mode do the following. With the Ultrapoi OFF Press and Hold the Button. The Ultrapoi will Flash Rainbow at you. A signal of the Custom Color Creator. When you see this Rainbow it is now safe to Release. Your Ultrapoi should now be Red. In order to Select your Colors for your new Color Pallet, you simply find the color you wish to add, and now HOLD the button and do not let go until your Ultrapoi come back to RED. It is now safe to release, and click away to find your second color. When you are ready to select your Final Color to the pattern you simply HOLD the button as you already have, however, this time instead of waiting for the Ultrapoi to come back to Red, instead HOLD until the Ultrapoi turns OFF and let go! Now you have saved your custom color selection and are ready to use on mode 1. :-) Hope you have tons of Fun!!!
