Works well!
This was able to diagnose and clear my check engine light code. I can't remember if we cleared it after my problem was fixed or not, so it may not clear it for your car unless you diagnose and fix the problem first. It's compatible with my VW Jetta SEL 2018. The app is easy to install and understand. No complaints!

Simple Application
This BT OBDII connector is simple in its application with the addition of a-required App which can be downloaded through the usual platforms for use with either an iOS or sn Android base phone. Some of the apps are free ad-based form, while others require a nominal fee for usage. This OBDII connector has helped (with the app) in ascertaining the vehicle's diagnostics as well as operational condition. In this instance, it has been used to ascertain average fuel consumption, average speed, coolant and oil temperatures as well as transmission fluid temperature. It is a great means of understanding the vehicle's condition and help with certain maintenance procedures. Depending on the app coupled with this connector, the information acquired can be made vehicle-specific, for instance, this has been used to reciprocate between 2 cars, and the information has been kept separate for both vehicles. In addition, the usual code verification is also easily performed, errors diagnosed, corrected and erased.A simple but essential tool to use.

Works well with BimmerCode and Re-Coding a Mini R56 ECU
So I used this device to re-code the ECU/ECM on my 2013 Mini Cooper (R56). For that purpose it worked great. I was able to edit the ECU and unlock a number of features. For example, in the stock configuration double clicking and then holding the unlock button on the remote will wind the windows down from the key fob. However there’s no way to roll the windows back up from the fob. I was able to change the roll down function to pressing and holding unlock just once, and enabled the window roll up feature by pressing and holding the lock button on the fob. I was also able to disable the seatbelt chime for the passenger front seat since that’s where my dog sits and it was incredibly annoying to have that going off the whole time she was up front.Next, I was able to enable some cool lighting features. For example, I enabled a module in BimmerCode that keeps my fog lights on while the high beams are on or while they’re flashed. I was also able to turn off hot and cold bulb warnings for a couple of lights (I have a modded rear bumber with fog lights from the JCW so I needed this to prevent errors from showing). Finally, I made a few changes for quality of life. I turned off the seatbelt chime for the driver seat since I always wear it and the constant reminder was just a little annoying. I enabled the option to automatically fold in the mirrors when locking the car, enabled the mirror to tilt downwards when putting the car in to reverse, adjusted the digital speedometer to show an accurate measurement instead of the slightly modified number BMW shows with the factory settings, and a few other relatively simple changes like that.I never had any issues with connectivity or any other problems with the Veepeak device. It worked flawlessly through all of this re-coding. From what I understand this device will also work with apps like “Torque” where you can connect to a tablet and show gauges like coolant temp, oil pressure, etc., right through the tablet. I believe you can also read codes through it as well with the right app as BimmerCode is able to clear any codes with every re-code. So there’s a wide range of what’s available to you with this device as long as you get the right apps. From what I’ve seen in my personal experience, there’s no reason to buy the more expensive options when the majority of your costs are going to come from the app purchases you’ll need to make anyway. Also, some people have complained that the Bluetooth devices or Bluetooth low energy devices like this have a problem with data transfer speed. I personally didn’t see a problem there. Re-coding was quite fast and I doubt the WiFi versions are any faster as I believe the bandwidth bottleneck is with the ECU/ECM and not with the transfer protocol itself (Bluetooth/BLE/WiFi).

Great for price, does everything a good scanner should do.
Works as intended, reads and clears codes, live data like rpm readings are very accurate with no delay, I now can use my phone as a rpm gauge since my car doesn’t come with one.

Hands down, a great device (For Android)
As far as the device is concerned it definitely scanned my Honda Odyssey without issue. I used the car scanner app as recommended, although there are plenty of app options. The code that came up on the screen is what I had expected (and hoped for), and I was able to pull that information, troubleshoot the issue, and clear the code to get the check engine light off. And, it has continued to remain off after the fix.The one thing I will say however is that I attempted to used this with several iOS devices with little success. As a tech reviewer I fortunately have access to several smartphones to work with and tried on the iPhone 12, iPhone 11 and the X...it was a no go. I grabbed one of the first Android devices that was closest (OnePlus) and it immediately paired to the bluetooth without issue and connected to the app.I just could not get the iOS to connect, even with restarting. Your experience could be different, but I just wanted to put that out there if you don't have access to another smartphone, which I understand not many individuals would. So, YMMV with the pairing, but once paired it really is convenient to have.

This is so useful!!!
It tells you exactly where the problem is, which helps you either fix it yourself or go to the mechanic already informed—so you don’t get tricked. Super easy to install and connects quickly to the Bluetooth app. I’ve already used it and took the car to the mechanic, and the diagnosis was spot on!

Easy to use with convenient clamshell case
This is a nice little product with a solid plastic case and convenient blue LED showing when it is powered. It comes in a surprisingly nice clamshell case. The small instruction booklet fits in the case which is great if you forget the bluetooth password (1234). It connected quickly with my OBD phone app.

Performs as described.
It worked as stated, low cost alternative to other scanners depending on what you're using it for. Mine was for lighting control. I followed the easy instructions for pairing with my phone that's based on the type of device you have. Yes, you do have to subscribe to open more diagnostic features, but you have a choice of monthly non-renewing or a yearly subscription.
