Critters Direct Live Freshwater Scuds (gammarus, sp) Qty-100

I didn't count them obviously but they were all alive and there were some detritus worms as well which is a bonus. If I could do anything different I would order more especially if you're getting these to put in a tank with livestock that would eat them (puffers, guppies, etc.). I love how active and fast they are. I know they act as a clean up crew and I kinda like their appearance more than all the bladder snails that clean up tanks. I made sure to have lots of plants, moss and places for them to hide so hopeful they can escape all the predators in my tanks and still do their clean up job. They're definitely the most expensive aquatic livestock I've ever bought so I definitely hope they can escape the fish. They are obvious to spot in a tank, not small like copepods. Expensive but I'll probably order again and just keep them in their own nano tank because having them in a tank with established other fish is stressful, I did a water change and siphoned the substrate and had to net them out. It arrived faster than the original estimate.

I bought scuds from another website. I was disapointed with that order. They were tiny if they were there at all and after several months I only had a few scuds. I took a chance and ordered from here and boy am I happy I did. I got a bag with big, easy to see, scuds. I put them in about a five gallon tank and they are thriving. I think I will be able to add some to my fish tanks soon.

The media could not be loaded. Scuds were delivered to the post office and I did not receive the notification for a few days nut scuds were alive and well upon pick up and now thriving in my tank. Will be placing a second order.

A little light on the count I think but so small hard to say. I got these to help keep my tank clean, but I believe my fish ate them all before they had a chance to do anything of the sort great fish food not so good for tank cleaners the fish eat them all.

My first package arrived with at least 3/4th of the scuds dead(it got hot in my local area unexpectedly) and critters direct sent me a second package free of charge which appeared to have 100% survival rate or damn close to. I’d highly suggest this company because even if the package doesn’t arrive in ideal condition (not the companies fault) they still get you taken care of! 5 star. Definitely recommend this seller and product. The pea puffers are living the dream right now! They’re so happy to be chasing live foods again.

On the second batch, I threw majority of the 100 in with my very hungry pea puffers. They went to town quickly lol so I never really spot any scuds in the 10 gallon. Hardly put any into this tank with baby guppies, shrimp and snail tank. They’ve really taken off! I love that I can just take a floating plant and throw it into my 10 gallon and tons of scuds will fall off to feed my puffers! They’re clearly super healthy lil dudes, they reproduce quick (which you want for fish!) and they’re a wonderful addition to a clean up crew. Love Critters Direct!
