It arrived, packaged well. I tested it with a 500 ml beaker full of cold water, with the stirring on about halfway, and slowly increased the temperature over time. The heating and stirring work well. The attaching arm could be a bit better, but for the price and getting the job done, it's a great item.

I bought this for my hobbies needs and was surprised how well it works. It gets quite hot and can make awesome hot chocolate for the grandkids. They enjoy doing science projects with grandpa. Next, I plan to take over the world! "Insert evil laughter here. . ."

It's fine, but takes like 30mins at max heat to boil a liter of water.

Love this hot plate/stirrer! It stirs and heats, which I use all the time for science demos in my classroom. And the price is well within my budget—much cheaper than what I could get in a science classroom supply catalog!

Manual lists a maximum temp of the hotplate at 716 degrees. Minimum hotplate setting (just enough to turn the light ON) is about 380F. Max temp setting went to 820F before manually turning off with, (are you kidding me) expression. My range stove on low is about 150F. With the stirring on MAX, this just sublimated liquid at the bottom, created air pockets, and shattered the bottom of two beakers in minutes. Way too hot to quickly and not safe to use. No way to safely control temperature or hold any temperature. Very disappointed.
