Used the hinges to make a tri-fold mirror. Needed a hinge that would let me keep the joint between the mirror panels as small as possible when folded flat yet still let the side mirror panels articulate and fold in. Hinges are excellent, solid, precise and move well and my mirror project was a success.The installation of the hinge into its pocket in the wood is easy but the creation of the pocket in the wood to set the hinge in requires a complex cutout and the use of a plunge router. I had to get some additional bushings and a template for the router to create the wood pocket. I couldn't see any way to machine out the pocket with any combination of non-specialized tools (dremel or drill or anything else I had in the garage). The SOSS hinge router template was disappointing. I gave the template a marginal review but have nothing but high praise for the hinges themselves. And now that I have the template and special bushings I can install more of this specific size SOSS hinge. Which I would not hesitate to do if I can think of any more projects that need a cool concealed hinge.Recommend this hinge.

This is my first time using the Soss invisible hinges. They function like a dream and allowed for a special design in a master vanity that was impossible with any other hinge on the market. I purchased a router guide template from Woodhaven that made the installation nearly perfect. I think that the hinge installation without the guide template would have been rather difficult and not as tight and clean. I will definitely use this product again in the future. Only downside is that I wish the hinges were cheaper.

We were engineering a trap door into the crawl space located in a high-traffic area—right inside the door from the mudroom to the garage. We wanted it to be as un-noticable as possible. Part of this was finding hinges that did not stick up above the level of the floor as we did not want any kind of trip hazard. These invisible hinges fit the bill 100%. Using the template included in the packaging, we installed them just as described. The only difficulty came from the fact that we needed to install them into a layered surface (plywood subfloor + laminate flooring) rather than solid wood. We figured it out and it works perfectly. Would definitely recommend these to anyone!

I'd been searching for a good hinge for the opening in the top of the bench seats in our van we've been converting. Standard hidden cabinet hinges are just too big taking up room and catch on things stored in the bench. These are perfect. Used a router to create the holes to mount them inside the wood and mounted the hinges with the included screws. Can't see them from the top or underneath.

I built a cutting board top for an old washing machine I converted into a cooler. The cutting board is in two halves, and I used these hinges to keep everything tidy and strong. I suggest getting the router template they sell with it if you're doing more than a few installs, or you're not handy with chisels. You may also need to be sure you have the right router bits with ample length to make the holes.

Installed easily, and works great on my corner lazy susan cabinet door. Great value!
