Superior quality materials and craftsmanship!
I order these ropes probably once every six months for a large gym that I own and operate. These ropes usually fray or unravel because they’re cheaply made. You know this is superior immediately when you hold it in your hand. The rope is thick and heavy and the wrap is more robust than the ropes I ordered previously. This is by far the best rope I have ordered yet and the price is solid.

and this is perfect for that
Yikes. This thing is kicking my can. Everything it is advertised to be. The handles and twisting haven't been a problem. You need to hold it a little loose, and let it turn. I jump rope between sets in the gym to keep my heart rate up, and this is perfect for that. It gives you a good workout all by itself. I find I have to exaggerate the movements to get it to work. You have to work harder in every aspect of jumping rope. I am 6'2" and the 1.5 " - 10' rope is enough for me.

Incredible workout. Some pointers below
This is my new #1 workout, beating weights, p90x/burpees, running. God-send during COVID. Some pointers:1. Mix jump-roping forwards & backwards. The rope is very hard on the wrists, and doing one direction makes it worse.2. Buy workout gloves (full-finger, not cut-offs). The rubber handles is very bad for your skin, it's caused excessive rashes and itchiness, actually pretty concerning. Just get gloves, you'll be fine.3. Don't let the rope touch the ground. This causes better jump form, wider arms for a better workout and easier wrists. But more importantly, the rope isn't very durable. Just a few bad hits to the pavement and it starts coming undone. I think mine'll only last a few months. This is my reason for 4 stars rather than 5. Some heavy ropes have a polyester anchor sleeve to protect the middle, but not this one. As a result, I recommend wrapping electrical tape around the center; or Google "rope saver anchor sleeve" to buy a sleeve separately. Or just make sure the rope never touches the ground.4. I bought 1.5" x 9' and I'm 6'1", the rope is plenty long. I've seen others report on these ropes (not just this brand) being longer than they expected. Per point 2 (not letting the rope touch the ground) you'll want less slack anyway. A shorter rope just causes higher jumps, which is better cardio; but 9' at 6'1" is MORE than enough, heck I could go shorter. So with only two sizes here, I recommend just about everyone choose the shorter. Read other reviews on length and take this with a grain of salt, just my two cents. Now for the workout. It's a substantially better full-body workout plus cardio than anything I've done. My winner before this was a burpees-heavy personalized p90x. That or just heavy weights. Burpees is a full-body workout, so is heavy-rope. But burpees is alternating upper/lower body (pushup, jump) where heavy-rope is a consistent full-body (all muscles engaged all the time). This burns you out faster, you won't last longer than 30s, which is a good thing: it's more efficient! So do 30s heavy-rope, then something to "rest" (planks, stretch, pushups, etc), 30s heavy-rope, etc. Heavy-rope, because it's so damn hard, works best for HIIT workouts like that.

Ready to get cut up - one of the final layers of my fitness journey.
I just got it as in less than 90 minutes ago and even though it is midnight I had to try it out especially since I didn't get a bike ride into today since this week has been a bit jacked up. I will be using it indoors at the library on study breaks but I'll be using it outside too and I noticed the rope was already getting worn after the first short use which is to be expected as I used it on concrete. Went inside used up the duct tape I had inside and voila problem fixed! No more wearing. Tried it out a bit more, came back inside and decided to get up and go outside for one more go. As I was walking outside I could already feel some soreness in my traps and gluteal muscles along with my abductors! After the first go I could tell it was engaging my core. I am so pumped. I keep forgetting that I am already getting into some decent shape. I expected to be bad at this but I wasn't! I've lost 50 pounds over the past 21 months and I have gained a lot of strength. I want to be lean and strong more than I want to be built but I feel this rope is going to cut up my upper body and give me strength in a great way! I cannot wait to get there and be who I am supposed to be. I'll be alternating this rope with a lighter 1 pound rope I also purchased. So just remember if you are going to use it outside on concrete or asphalt duct tape the part that hits the ground. I will be checking to see if the duct tape is wearing every few days and add accordingly. Over time the duct tape itself will add weight to the rope which will be fine as my fitness will be improving along with the small additions. I know this will help me reach my goals and I'm ecstatic about it.

Great workout, but rope is unraveling and tangled within itself
***Edit:So after another day at the gym using this rope, the ropes within the rope are unraveling/unbraiding right in the center of the rope. So now I have two huge lumps of unraveled ropes. Not sure how I’m supposed to resolve this issue. I’ve tried to force it back into its shape but it’s pretty messed up. The only thing That might fix it is if I cut off the red shrink wrap and unravel the ropes to ravel them back together again. What a hassle for $40 ***I figured out how to jump without the rope twisting my wrist during the rotation. Hold the rope ends like a microphone with the ends pointing up. This worked very well until I noticed the rope was unraveling and knotting within itself at one end after only three uses. Not sure how to fix that... also the part where it hits the ground is starting to become frayed. I’ve only jump roped on my gym’s rubber floor. While this is a great workout and I can already see definition in my arms, the issue with the rope unraveling and fraying is a bit of a bummer.
