His first album of new recordings for almost 3 years and follow up to In A Time Lapse sees Einaudi influenced by the world around him. Nature’s elements (earth, water, air, and fire), mathematical and scientific elements, musical forms and works of arts including those by Kandinsky. This album brings these seemingly disparate elements together into one concept. Performed by Einaudi and his band the album includes his trademark piano melodies and stirring ensemble playing on tracks including Night, Elements and Four Dimensions.

The magic continues
Years ago composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi performed his compositions on solo piano. There was elegance, subtlety, and spare beauty in these compositions which exercised a spell on you. In the course of time the number of instruments increased and there was initially the fear that the spare beauty might be diluted and the magic might be diminished. In retrospect the fear proved unfounded while the proliferation of instruments proved to be a very productive evolution, increasing the beauty and enhancing the magic. The present compilation comprise twelve pieces and only a minority of two are solo piano works. It is true that Ludovico Einaudi performs on the piano in all twelve compositions and the piano is the dominant force and provides the character for each piece. But the variety of instruments serve as elements of enriching and providing variety to the music. But there is unity in this variety because you have the unmistakable feeling that all compositions emanate from the same musical and charismatic mind. The compilation ends in a brief solo piano work as if the composer wanted to conclude the compilation in a whisper.Undoubtedly the present compilation is one of the very best works of the charismatic composer.

Stunning album from Ludovico Einaudi
I have 6 Einaudi albums and this is my favourite by a large margin. Tracks like Night, Four Dimensions and Elements are out of this world and it is a deep pleasure to listen to the gentle melodies, tones and rhythms of this Italian piano maestro. The soundscapes of Elements resonate in the soul with their subtle uplifting qualities. Highly recommend this milestone of modern instrumental music.

Subtle and beautiful
For people who say his music is all the same I disagree; this album is a definite development . It requires repeated listening to fully appreciate the subtitles and beauty of this work. For me the track Four Dimensions is the most beautifully sublime piece of music; I listen to it constantly- the final section of what one can only term whirling where the strange and beautiful instrument the water phone comes in regularly moves me to tears. Live this is spectacular.

The download is a bonus
I started listening to Ludovico Einaudi after hearing songs played on Radio1. Ive actually purchased this album for my grandad for christmas as i think he'll enjoy it.It would have been nice for the CD to come in a jewel case but this is more environmentally friendly i guess. And you do get the download free with amazon which is a nice bonus.

Great new Album
Love this album and it is in my C. D player a lot. I am a big fan of Einaudi and have all his C. D.'s. Have also seen him live in concert and that was amazing too. If you enjoy his other music, you will want this one in your collecction too.Prompt delivery, good price and well packaged.

Different from his early albums
There is more complexity added to the songs compared to his early works. Richer and stronger in my opinion, and yet of Ludovico’s style. Less lonely and sorrow, but still emotional. Highly recommended.

Lovely Sound
I’ve admired Einaudi’s music for a while now and this is the third cd of his I’ve bought in the last month. I find it’s excellent background or driving music.
