I used this to convert a bunch of my parents old dvds to mp4 for them so I could upload them in the cloud. It worked great! No complaints just plug and play.

We bought this for my daughter to be able to watch movies on her laptop at college. She loves it. It was very easy to plug in and use. There was some kind of software for watching videos that needed to be downloaded, which I didn't love, but it wasnt hard and it didn't cost anything. Its been working just fine and like I said, she loves it.

I don't care how many stars this piece of junk has, DON'T BUY IT!! Just got back from the UPS store returning my SECOND one. First one lasted a couple weeks then would not identify with the computer. They sent me another one and that one didn't work right out of the box! I'm done with these! Wish I could give it a zero. UPDATE!!! PLEASE REA!! I was probably, like 99% wrong about these dvd/cd external drives. I just received my THIRD external cd/dvd drive and it didn't work either. So now now I'm thinking theses another issue which there was. I have a new computer that, come to find out after talking to computer customer service, the new version of Windows 11 I was using was also trying to give me a update for Windows XP which never could/would install, so the call to customer service. Long story short, I installed Windows 11 (repair) version and the new cd/dvd drive is not working flawlessly. So, I had to update my review and apologize for any issues I may have caused. Had to set the story straight, these cd/dvd drivers are probably pretty good. The reason I stated I was probably wrong was due to the fact I did not have these drives at the time the computer was working as it should. Glad to get this off my shoulders, have a great day!

This is an excellent device. I purchased the version with USB-C and regular USB. Before purchasing, I found reviews that stated it does not work with Chromebook (Chrome OS) - and while this was one of my applications, I decided to give it try and do a return if it bombed. Here are my findings.... I am using an ACER 17" Chromebook - I think it is a 2021-22 version. The device works on Chrome OS, BUT NOT for Audio CDs. Audio CDs cannot be read. DVDs can be read, but there is no software on Chrome OS to play DVDs. So I had another, older, external player and decided to test whether it could read Audio CDs on Chrome OS. It could not. So my assessment is that some Egghead developer at Google decided that no user would ever want to listen to an old Audio CD or watch a DVD that they own. That is simpleton thinking and absurd. In summary, this device works 100% on Windows and other desktop operating systems, but NOT 100% on Chromebook. My view is that this deliberate limitation is built into Chrome OS for some unknown and unreasonable reason. I mean, why would you create this great OS and deliberately exclude an ability to play Audio CDs? And why would you deliberately not allow a user to play a DVD that they own. I'm keeping this device because I have other uses for it. --- Other than for limited Chrome OS

Fantastic audio. Better than any cd/dvd I have ever bought. Video is crisp and player runs quiet and smooth. Frankly, I am amazed by the quality of this compact and low priced unit. I like the cord being permanently connected in its own storage space. Easy to get, never lost. Does it well.

This has worked great from the beginning. The only issue is needing to eject from the computer rather than from the drive. But that is easy enough.

Only reads my discs half the time, even ones it's already read. When it works though the files are all there and it's handy.

This is so easy to use. You literally connect to your Lap top and it is ready to go. I finally get to use my CDs for my Print Shop program without downloading all the graphics. Very pleased
