I initially purchased the Interlinked Smoke Alarm and Hub, along with an additional Smoke Alarm, last year. Unfortunately, I encountered the same issue as many other customers, where the hub was a newer version than the additional smoke alarm, though it was compatible with the smoke alarm that came with the hub. Fortunately, upon contacting Meross, they confirmed that this was an issue with the versions being sold last year. They promptly rectified the situation and issued a refund for the smoke alarm with the older firmware version. I now have two smoke alarms of the same version and a compatible hub, and everything is functioning perfectly—thanks to the support staff at Meross for their assistance. The hub and alarms are straightforward to set up and seamlessly integrate into Apple HomeKit if you use it. The test feature from your phone works effectively, allowing you to hear the alarms individually and check the battery percentage indicator. Some users have mentioned that the alarms aren't loud enough during tests, but this is because the test is only intended to confirm connectivity and functionality at a lower level with different sound. As per the instructions, pressing and holding the physical button on each smoke alarm for over 10 to 15 seconds (can't remember how long) increases the volume to its maximum decibel level, and they are adequately loud, comparable to most smoke alarms. I have one smoke alarm in my kitchen and another on my upstairs landing. The kitchen alarm was triggered once due to a household member burning something while cooking, and it was very loud. I received an alert on my phone indicating smoke in the kitchen, and the upstairs alarm also went off. The alarms are performing their intended functions effectively. If you use HomeKit, you can set an automation to turn on all your HomeKit lights and lamps when any smoke alarm goes off, which is useful in case any fire happens at night and you need to see where you are going, providing additional peace of mind. I have not experienced any false alarms over the past two months of using these alarms. I hope this continues, and I definitely recommend these interlinked alarms.

Update : Having been in touch with Meross customer service, it appears one of my alarms was faulty. Meross have replaced this very quickly and the new alarm works as it should. The support from Meross has been fantastic, and I have renewed faith in their products. I have now started buying more from their range. Original review: I really should have trusted other's reviews. These alarms are fully featured for a sensible (cheap?) price, but I don't feel I can rely on them. I wanted multiple alarms that were interlinked (when one is triggered, all will sound) and would also send a notification to my phone. I bought 2 alarms (and one hub). When I use the app to test the alarms, one sounds, but the other doesn't. I don't know if it is faulty, but another reviewer reported that only the first alarm installed works in test mode... Why would that be the case? I have requested support from Meross, and will report back... Overall, at the moment, I don't feel confident enough to trust the alarms to work in an emergency. If they can't be controlled from the hub, how can I expect them to let the app know when there's a fire? Or for them to speak to each other? I may pluck up the courage to test them with some real smoke, but I don't really want to do that!

I bought one hub and four smoke alarms. To satisfy Scottish building regulations they need to be interlinked and need to be able to be tested to confirm they are working. In my case it has been impossible to confirm that the alarms are actually interlinked even though they all show up in the Meross app using the test function only works on the first alarm installed, none of the others will respond to testing through the app and even doing a smoke test, as suggested by Meross support, didn't work. The instructions for this product are really poor and include QR codes to support pages that don't exist. Meross support has been less than helpful, just saying the same as instructions, and not actually answering any of my direct questions. I have now lost count of the hours spent resetting, reinstalling and retesting... all to no avail. As for homekit support, it is really very basic, unlike their smart plugs which show up on the main homekit page, the smoke alarm hub is hidden under the three dots on the top LHS of the page and each of the sensors are listed under that, although you can name them there is no way to know which one is which. I really wanted this product to work and very disappointed that Meross support has been so unhelpful. I can see no alternative but to return these and go for the Bosch Interlinked instead.

I already had the 'same' hub, purchased just over a year ago with a smart thermometer, so purchased this unit to work with it. During set up the Meross app stated that I needed a newer version of the hub. Have since purchased the smoke alarm packaged with the hub and it works OK. The old and new hubs look identical and to top it off the new hub received a firmware update as I set it up. Not impressed.

Very good alarms giving peace of mind and they also connect to apple home (HomeKit) which is a massive bonus

Integrates nicely with Apple Homekit (note you need to purchase a separate hub to do this). Setup was a breeze. My only gripe relates to the test facility, which you do from the app. I've got two of these alarms, and whilst one of them chirps reassuringly when you test it from the app, the other one doesn't and I have to manually test it by pressing the button. The audible alarm is not the loudest I've ever heard, but you'll get an alert on your phone anyway, so not a huge deal. Not a perfect product then, but if Apple Homekit is your thing, it's an inexpensive and effective smoke alarm.

Un bon détecteur de fumée est connecté que j’ai eu aucun mal à configurer sur l’application Meross. Édit décembre 2025 : J’ai eu un petit incident avec un détecteur qui s’est déclenché de manière intempestive (la nuit). J’ai alors contacté le service client Meross. Après un interrogation des logs ils n’ont pas trouvé le problème, mais ils ont accepté de me l’échanger contre un neuf. Très bonne réactivité, je suis très content et continuerai d’acheter des produits chez Meross

I am happy with the product and service! I bought 4x, and 2x were faulty. after contacting MEROSS they right away shipped 2x additional units to me!

The detectors looks nice and they do work good (detecting smoke in ~30 seconds), integration with home kit is also okay, but it's complicated to find out which detector is which in home app. The problem begins when you need to move detectors and place them over your home - the main hub range is not so great and I constantly see "Unreachable" in native app and "No response" in homekit. Hub uses some radio frequency to communicate with detectors, but zigbee or wi-fi would be way more reliable. Maybe will work fine for smaller apartments but I am returning this in favour of wi-fi enabled detectors.
