Favorite for sensitive skin
This is the only soap I’ve used for about five years now, and it’s still the GOAT. Long lasting, leaves a clean feel without drying my skin out, no more issues with irritation or sensitivity. First time I’ve purchased from this seller (was the best price per ounce) and it arrived in good condition, soap is not overly dried out or crumbly. It does have a strong smell that takes getting used to, but I personally like it - leaves no fragrance on skin, and it smells natural and comforting to me since I now associate it with healthy, comfortable skin!

Lasts a long time. Need a soap tray
Great soap, but you need to know what this soap is. It’s strong straight up soap. It’s has a distinct smell. It reminds me of France

Incredibile value and long lasting!!
The Rolls Royce of soaps, bona fide Marseille soap from family owned business . Traditional, history, quality, great value and extremely versatile: body, hair, laundry, household cleaning. It’s a the noblest of all soaps.

Very nice soap for the price
I use this soap as a stain remover. I am a mail carrier, and it's a challenge to keep my work shirts clean when they are light blue. While working with mail and packages all day in the sun, my shirts seem to absorb dirt and grime. I've tried lots of stain removers and oxiclean but even with the scrubbing, the stains aren't completely gone or the product becomes too expensive since I need to use a lot for it to work. This soap seemed expensive when I ordered it but I decided to go for it. I got 3 large cubes of soap for around $25. I used it to wash several shirts and the cube is almost the same size so I think the 3 cubes will last for several months. It lathers well. I still have to scrub the stains but the soap works better than any other stain remover that I've tried. I recommend getting an old fashioned inexpensive wash board if you have to scrub work clothes, too. It makes the work easier and faster than using a scrub brush. This soap does have a different smell as others have mentioned. To me it smells a little like sheep or lanolin, if you know what that smells like. I don't mind it at all and when it comes out of the dryer I no longer notice it. I just might try it as a body soap like others use it. It lathers well, and my hands feel nice after using it on my shirts.

VERY strong smelling, but otherwise fabulous!
These soaps are gorgeous-looking and work great for hands, body, and even dishes (better than liquid dish soap, in my opinion). Apparently works on laundry stains too, though I haven't tried it yet for that. The ONE drawback is that it has a VERY strong carbolic smell -- it doesn't last on things you use on it, just the soaps themselves. If you can get past that, they're great.

Give it a chance
I use this soap for everything - dishes, showers, stain removal. The history and myriad of uses is fascinating, and I love that it’s “just soap.” I was first introduced to it during my research into eczema friendly soaps for my husband. Yes, when the first blocks came in the mail I have to admit I was surprised by the smell - it’s very hard to explain, sort of a “moist greenhouse” meets “car tire rubber” smell. But y’all, it GREW ON ME. Seriously. Now both my husband and I are addicted to the scent. On the skin it’s so clean smelling without really having any lingering scent - when lathering for dishes (it is the BEST dish soap) it almost has a more edible, green smell. I don't know if it’s our bodies instinctively being drawn toward the health benefits / lack of chemicals or what - but my advice is, even if you hate it at first - give it a chance! It’s a great soap.

Very Soapy
This stuff is in big old blocks. It is VERY smelly in an odd odor type of way. However, it does clean things including yourself very well. I also used it to get an oil stain out of a shirt that Shout etc wouldn't. This soap did, though. Just got the shirt wet, scrubbed this soap on the stain, massaged it around rinsed thoroughly. The stain was gone. It was an old stain too. Been thru the washer and dryer a few times before I tried this soap. So yeah, it stinks but it works so there you have it.

Cigarette Smoke
Everybody commented on how this soap smelled nice and not too strong. When I opened the bag the soap WREAKED of a mix cigarette and campfire smoke. I could never use a soap that smells like that. I know everybody has difference senses of smell, but my children also thought it smelled like that. Just something to consider when buying.
