Nice “faux leather” journal for the money .You can set/change the combination easily. The pages turn nicely and the included pen was a huge surprise when I first tried it-I was sure I would hate it but it makes writing somehow easier-I’m a blue gel pen gal so for me to like using this…that’s huge. Having a good pen YOU like to use makes all the difference in journaling.

Great quality cover, nice pen, better than I expected.

1st of all this journal is beautiful and heavy duty. Comes with two ribbon book marks. The pen very nice! So I was so disappointed when upon following the instructions the lock wouldn’t work. I wanted this to be able to privately write down my goals so the lock is very important to me. I came to the reviews and saw someone mentioned a YouTube video would help reset the lock. Hold the latch to the right side and put your new numbers in and release. No it’s not the most secure option but it works for what I need it for. The instructions that come with it are invalid if someone has already tinkered with the journal. Try what I mentioned or look up - reset journal lock on YouTube. This is probably one of the best, most beautiful journals I have ever had. And did I mention the pin is spectacular!!!!

My daughter is still using this religiously since I bought it. Something about it locking makes her feel more free about her personal memoirs.It gets shoved under the bed throwing around the bedroom and I've even found it in the backseat of the car and it still holding up just as well as it looked the first day I got it.Good quality and good strap and lock.

The Lock Diary with Pen is a great choice for keeping my thoughts private. The lock works well, adding a sense of security. The pages are smooth, perfect for writing, and the included pen is a nice touch. However, the lock feels a bit delicate, so I handle it carefully. This notebook came exactly as pictured. The instructions to set your own code was very easy to follow and is very good quality! I also love the pen it came with, it writes very well and is very smooth. I have to force myself not to use it for everything and just use it for the journal, as I want to use it specifically for the journal.

Please do not purchase this item. I bought 9 of these to give to my students as gifts at the end of this semester. I am a college professor who teaches writing. Not only am I disappointed I am also embarrassed that I handed out such crap to my students. I kept one for myself and like most who gave reviews, the lock would not open.I requested a refund and the company emailed we that they will refund the money I paid. But the catch is, they do not credit the card used for the initial payment. They will only give you a next-purchase credit. Why would I buy again the very thing I'm requesting the refund for?..senseless. BUYER BEWARE!!!

This journal is so cute and perfect. I'm glad I purchased this one. The leather is thick and nice, and looks even better in person. The page layout is good, and the pen works great. I would absolutely order this one again.I don't know why people think it's difficult to open. The journal is set to 000, you just push the knob away from the lock to open it, push the knob towards the lock and set a new combination, let go and boom. Done. Now you can put the lock back in and it works just fine. It comes with easy to read instructions.
