Best Detectors I have purchased
When we purchased our home it did no have any gas appliances so did not have any carbon monoxide detectors installed in the home. Fast forward to the next winter we upgraded our HVAC system to a gas furnace so wanted to ensure our home and family was protected from the dangers of potential gas leaks. When choosing an detector I wanted to make sure that it was hard wired in with our entire house as well as have a detector that had a smoke detector as well. After researching different brands I found that I liked the reviews on the Kidde Hardwired Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector the best as it also had the AA battery backup.Coming from public safety a backup is always preferred as living in more rural areas seconds and minutes count to get out and get to safety. After turning off the breaker and testing to make sure power was off to the detector circuit, Installation was a breeze with the provided instructions and only took a few minutes to install once the old detector was disconnected. I made sure that the battery was also good before connecting it to the power as well. Once the new Kidde Hardwired Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector's were all installed I made my way through the house and tested each one. If your detectors are all connected I love that when one is alerting, they all alert to warn the entire house of the danger. After using for a few months now I will definitely purchase Kidde detectors in the future if needed. The value of safety is priceless but the cost of the detectors is well worth the listing.Be sure to always change your detector batteries once a year!!

I am switching to FirstAlert brand from Kidde forever...you should too
Let me add my name to the list of unsatisfied customers. In some regards it feels like why bother because I really do not think this company gives a s***, however I could not just let this go without speaking my peace.I called this morning to talk to customer service because our hard wired battery backup fire alarm was chirping intermittently with three short bursts (only one of two that we purchased was doing this...to be fair...the other seems to be working fine). This unit has been doing this for about a year. I should have done something sooner but it took a year until it got annoying when I replaced the batteries on both units in my house when the other was chirping for a low battery, which is fine as I am glad I know when to do this.I told them I had replaced the batteries recently and had tested them on a battery tester prior to inserting them (this battery tester has been reliable as when I take out what seems to be low batteries, this tester confirms low levels, and also shows high levels on new batteries). This is when the excuses started:1) Are the batteries one of three battery brands approved? Two of which I have never heard of. My batteries are from a well known national brand (super alkaline) whose name I will not mention here because why darken their name as they work great. So I wrote down the names of the three battery types.2) She told me by using a non-approved battery I have voided the warranty. How convenient, minimizing the number of units you have to replace.3) Then she asked...are you sure it is three chirps (malfunctioning unit) as if it is four then it might be CO warning? I was 90% certain (my wife thought the same) but she said unless I was certain (including what color the flashing light was when it happened) there was nothing she could do. I told her this happens maybe once a day and she replied she needed to know to which I responded "so basically I need to stand under the unit and wait for it to happen to get some assistance on a $40 smoke detector?" and she said yes she needs to know.By this time (about 10 minutes into the conversation...as well as another 20 minutes on hold waiting for her) I had wasted a half hour of my time and that they were never going to replace the unit so it is time to move on. On top of it all she was incredibly combative when I pointed out how absurd it would be to get the information she "required". The attitude started right after "what is your name and phone number" and never ended.I want to make it easy to LEAVE this company. I will be replacing all Kidde fire alarms in my house. I am switching to a different brand FirstAlert ($19.17 at Amazon and highly rated) and you should too. In fact here is the link. If you think bad customer service doesn't matter, you are wrong. Word of mouth will get you.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJMN3443?tag=chtrbr214884-20&th=1

Trust worthy detectors
Gives us a piece of mind on either side of our house. We gotten three so far, one after a couple of months just starting beeping randomly and very loud at random times in the middle of the night, couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it, we tried everything but it just basically malfunctioned. No issues so far with the other ones.
