Handy Art 440-003 Medium Student Acrylic Paint, 32 oz., Gesso White

The expensive name brand artist quality black gesso I've used in the past just lost a customer. I relied on buyer's reviews when I risked buying this black gesso; the price was lower so I feared the quality would suffer. I found it to be excellent, as good as the high priced, artist quality name brand product I've relied on in the past. I gave it a good stir and it covered my substrate with one coat and went on smoothly. In my opinion It rises above the student grade designation and the ones so named that I've tried in the past.

My first order, and usage, of black gesso. This is the best I have used ( even better than white. ) The coverage is phenomenal. I covered 2 dozen canvas boards ranging from 5x7 in to 11x14 in ( about half of them used ), front and back, and barely made a dent in the amount in the jar. Will be reordering when time and stocking up. Absolutely the best value. Thanks for a great product !

I use gesso for base paint on my houses. I know the usual is to apply mod podge, but I find gesso makes a much better base to start painting my diorama houses. A bit more expensive but worth it. This is a lot of product for the money and it works perfectly for what I need it for.

Great delivery time and nice size container. The lid was loose and the cardboard seal was loose also, there was a small mess. Watch out for that.

This is a good gesso for covering large canvas. I am covering 12 38X48 canvases with two coats each and it goes on nice and smooth. It’s a little thick in viscosity but not bad for my purpose. It can be watered down a little if needed. It dries fast and holds up well. It goes a long way as well. I would buy it again although it will last me awhile.

I love to carve decorative wood decoys and other wood creations. This Gesso is great for sealing the wood in preparation for applying the paint. Paint this on.....lightly sand....and paint. Recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you like a thin, fluid gesso this will be fine. However, if you are looking for a semi to thick gesso keep looking. For a reasonably priced thicker gesso go to an art store and buy Demco or Liquitex.

Handy Art Student Acrylic Gallon, Black Gesso This seller was the only one that I could find that had Acrylic Black Gesso in Gallon size bucket and is 1 of very few that have stock in black. Having the ability to find a great seller is that stocks large sizes to get more for your money in bulk really makes me happy, I hate buying small amounts knowing how much more it costs me. The shipping arrived before the estimated delivery time and there was no damage to the product. The Gesso is a quality known brand and it is my favorite brand, it goes on very smooth and easy and covers better than other brands.
