Q: What is the hp on this model? Didn't see it in the description. Have a large standard poodle and retriever.

I looked it up, 3.2hp. I have a Standard, fostered a miniature poodle, & have a 4 lb Yorkie Poo. This works well on all of them. Just be very careful drying by their ears & eyes. If you don’t have the ears held down tight you could blow out their eardrums (not even sure if they have them) but it’s also very loud for them. I use high power, low heat for the standard & low power, low (or no) heat for the Yorkie. I hit him w/high power once & it pinned him to the wall.

Q: Is this also a vacuum that will suck up the brushed hair?

not that I know of At least, I've never done it.

Q: How does this compare over using a regular blow dryer on your pet? Is the fan more powerful for faster drying?

Yes it is way more powerfu. With the regular blow dryer my doodle was still curly not fluffy, and it took 45-60min to dry vs 15min with this. From what I am learning is when they are fluffy you can get a better cut. Hope this helps.

Q: How does this product do with a double coated Pyrenees?

I don’t know we have a thick coat, Bichon. It dries it very quickly however my only complaint is it is not warm enough even on high and the warmest setting. Not sure if it is defective of just not warm.

It's amazing!!

It's amazing!!!It is the BEST $90.99 I've spent on my Alaskan Malamute! This got my Alaskan dry in way less time than using a shock vac or regular blow dryer!! I would recommend using it outside or somewhere you wouldn't mind dog hair being blasted everywhere. I did it in my yard. It's not as loud as a regular blow dryer or a shock vac either so it won't be as scary to your pet!
