relief pain
This is the second one I bought the first was a medium size and to adjust tightness the velcro barely reached and the material at thumb was to tall covering thumb. I reordered a small before returning the medium to see the difference. I got the small today and fits perfectly. I will keep the medium to use at night or as a spare when I wash the small one.I had to take the shank out of the medium one because it rubbed on thumb below bone by wrist. Didnt make a big difference on restriction of thumb but felt much better. Not sure if I will have to on small size if it will rub but probably will.Over all the brace is great and does relieve pain. It is cumbersome but comes off easy enough to wash dishes or what you need hand for. To not have the pain is worth any hassle. The brace is made really good.My hand is not big thought about medium for a women but small works much better for me.I did get the smaller brace and have worn it several days. I don't think I will have to take the shank out of thumb area on this like I did on the medium size. For me I really like it and I think some swelling has gone down below my thumb bone by wrist. I had surgery on my left thumb 20 years ago and they took out my bone below the thumb so for now I will wear the brace.

Does it job really well- provides support and relief from pain
This brace has been my inseparable companion while I have been on the (slow) path to recovery from De Quervain's tenosynovitis. I didn't expect any brace to provide a miraculously cure, and this device has given me relief when my wrist ached and allowed me to sleep without pain. It is very comfortable to wear and it has provided the stability of the wrist and thumb required for the slow tendon healing process. I ordered a left wrist, small size and the fit has been great. Sure, the tabs are too long and needed to be cut off- but that's a minor, petty complaint. On the whole, this brace has been terrific. Thank you to the designers and craftsmen and craftswomen behind making the Braceability splint

Great braces that last
I have worn these braces every night for 3.5 years due to wrist pain. I'm hypermobile and also have tendonitis and these keep my wrists from being painful during the day. they've last much longer than more expensive braces, and I regularly machine wash them. I appreciate that they come in a variety of sizes as I have narrow wrists and hands and struggle with "one size" options. My only complaint is that they are not that breathable and as a result when its warm, they can get a bit sweaty and smelly. However, the durability and pain relief is worth it, as I have tried many different styles over the years. I'm just now repurchasing them.If you're looking for braces to work in, I do find these a bit difficult to type in, and difficult to do other tasks due to the thumb immobilization. I have another lighter weight pair plus compression for those purposes.

The best brace ever!
I bought this for my sprained thumb. I had tried 2 different ones that was just not working and were a tad to big. I have small hands and wrists and the other 2 braces were one size fits most. The one I had before I got this one, Was only supposed to be temporary until I seen the Doctorr and get a better one from them that fits And when I told them it didn't work it was a tad to big. The Doctor just told me the brace looks good. As long as it fits. But after a week of wearing that one, my thumb was not getting better. And after the doctor refused to listen to me, and wanted to go ahead and get an MRI. I knew I needed better support and compression, I bought this. It came the next day. As soon as I put this on within 5 minutes my thumb finally felt better and the inflammation finally started to go away and I was able to feel my fingers as my whole hand was constantly cold and felt numb. Its day 3 wearing it both day and night and my thumb is finally starting to feel better!. I totally recommend getting trying this brace before going to an orthopedic. Unless your orthopedic Dr cares and actually listens.

Almost Perfect.
My problem: I have a combination of De Quervain's and Tendinitis in my wrist so its extremely important for me to have my thumb locked down as much as possible, and to prevent ulnar deviation and radial deviation of my wrist. (Bending the wrist to the pinky side, and the opposite thumb side)My search for a replacement brace: Since the brace my doctor gave me died a gruesome death, I have searched high and low for the perfect brace. I've tried the universals, laces, BOA closure systems, and all of them had some issue or another. Comfort was the biggest issue I was trying to find a solution for, but some of these braces actually caused me pain from jump street. For example, where they tighten just happened to place enough pressure on my tendon and made the brace absolutely useless, or once I secured the straps or laces as much as I could, it still allowed movement, etc...Then I found BraceAbility. This thing is absolutely perfect for me. It locks down movement where I need it, and its comfortable as hell doing it. Its also washable which is HUGE.The only thing I would advise you watch out for has to do with their sizing chart and velcro. When I measured my wrist, I was coming in line with their Medium. I bought it, and found that I needed my wrist more securely fashioned and was running out of velcro. Imagine having a ton of receiving end velcro, but the velcro strap that you pull to tighten and secure had only a sliver of it left to attach to the receiving end. Thus making the thing come loose every few minutes.I exchanged it for a Small, and even though that velcro issue from the previous size is still present, it now allows for a secure closure which I couldn't get before. So long story short this thing is awesome, its super comfortable, and I feel my wrist and thumb are secure. I only caution that you may have sizing issues, and depending on how secure you need your straps there might be an issue with not having enough velcro to get a good snug close.
