Q: does you have to plug it in

yes, this requires mains electricity. Fitted with a 3 pin UK standard plug.

Q: what is the cable lenght?

Mine doesn't have a cable. Instead it has a flimsy wire and battery box. They seem to have switched to battery operated without changing the description.

Q: Lost my adapter plug for this light. Can anyone tell me what type and voltage they are so I can order a replacement?

Q: How does it hang up ?

Just with rubber suction pads. They’re very light so easily fixed to the window. They’re very good, as bright as previous mains powered ones I’ve had yet so much easier not having to lengthen cable, these are literally fit the batteries, fix to the desired location and turn them on at the appropriate time then can leave them alone. I set the to come on at 4 during the holiday period and they go off at 10pm then repeat the times until you have to replace the batteries which being LED, isn’t too often.
