Superb
I just came back from 3 weeks driving around spain and this was a wonderful add on to my trip. It even handled several heavy downpours well and I'm very happy with this purchase.

Terrific with a couple simple add on modifications
This is a traditional very thin 210-poly so it's not built to last, but for the price it seems to work great. There are two mods that I think are almost a requirement to be happy with this.First, buy a 10-pack of small strong magnets (with hooks for easy removal). Use them to close all the gaps around the opening to keep bugs out. It comes with six flat magnets which are easy to lose or get stuck on your car if separated from the tent. I put a piece of strong duct tape on each one to create a little handle.Second find some sheet foam packing material from one of your many Amazon purchases, or pool noodle/pipe insulation etc, and use it on all the semi-sharp edges of your door. Mine were at the very top corners. If not, this thing will rip through on night one if there is much wind.As for longevity... Based on my extensive backpacking use of this type of construction, I'm guessing you'll get 20-40 nights of use, which works out to a couple dollars per use (which is cheap in tent-world)The thin construction will absolutely fail at some point, and the elastic will wear out losing your bug seal. Also, once you set the height of your rear hatch where you want it, don't move it at all. That will stress and shorten the lifespan.I'm still giving it 5-stars because there are well thought out small touches on this. Straps everywhere for options, loops on the tarp-end for your poles, the included magnets. Ditch the stakes and use real ones.Size-small installed fine on a Tesla model Y by tucking the bottom edge inside the rear storage lid, rather than to a non-existent bumper edge. It handled a brief sprinkler test, but I won't be trusting or testing it in a real downpour.

A must have for SUV overlanders and campers
I’ve been using this for a few weeks camping now with no issues. The straps that cling to the rims haven’t had any issue as I noticed with the small version and on the whole am very happy with the unit. It fits my 4Runner very snug, so am not sure if it would fit a larger SUV. But for mid-sized SUVs, this item gets the job done.Update: after several months of daily use, I bought a replacement due to wear and tear and one of the inner zippers no longer working properly. The updated version I received has buckle straps that will likely not reach the rims with larger lifts and/or sidewalls. As you can see from the attached photos, they barely fit my 4Runner, with only a 1/2” of strap holding on the buckle fitting. Was pretty miffed at first, but rather than fitting to the rim, can be fit to the top of rear tire flap if present. Overall they seem to provide a more secure hold than the elastic straps they had before, which could help keep gusts out from the cargo area while dealing with strong headwinds, but would recommend they either increase the strap length by at least 10” or refactor the strap to allow aftermarket extension.

Good Value
We do a lot of minivan camping in our Chrysler Town & County. We currently own a DAC Explorer 2 tailgate tent a and a Tail Veil.We purchased this tailgate tent mostly out of curiosity but put it on our minivan, just now, and really like it.Each of our 3 tailgate tents has particular strengths and we're happy to have this as part of our camping kit. The awning is a nice feature. We'll wait for it to go on sale, again, and buy several more as gifts for people we know will be interested. We're pleasantly surprised!

Fit my overlander very well
This is one of those items which I love the idea of but am not so crazy about the deployment. I overland an Audi Q7 and have it set up with a fridge, bed and the works inside. This hatch tent gives me more fresh air, space and a better connection to the outdoors… but I find myself not using it. It’s a pain to set up, tear down and store and take up valuable space on my trips. The build quality is good and lesser built vehicles would probably fair much better.
