Perfect Ice Ball Maker
This ice ball maker is game changing! Made clear ice balls first time trying! Use warm to hot water is the key. After took the container out of freezer, I left it on the counter for 15 min. Then the rubber mold can be removed very easily, while ice balls are still in great condition. Very happy with this purchase!

Probably the fastest, lowest-effort, most consistent method to get clear ice spheres
I’ve made clear ice for more than a decade, generally using the “cooler without lid” method. I’ve also wrapped a blender-bottle in reflectix - which also yields consistent results. However, with both of these paths one must break up the ice with a knife or chisel in order to shape it. I was curious to see if using a cavity mold would make this easier. Short answer: Yes, it does. I’ve already made four batches with the Better Kitchens clear ice ball maker, and it really couldn’t be simpler to get perfectly clear spheres every time. Pour 24-32 ounces of water in the plastic chamber and slide the sphere-mold in. You should see some water push up through the small holes at the top - if not, just pour water in until both mold spheres are completely full. Freeze for 20-30 hours (don’t leave it in the freezer longer than 30~ ish hours, else the plastic chamber may crack). Gently slide the foam insulating layer off, and run some room temperature tap water on the outside of the plastic chamber for about 30 seconds (this will make it very easy to slide the rubber sphere mold out). Gently work the rubber mold tabs upwards (first left, then right) - it should release right away. Finally, release the ice spheres from the mold and store in the freezer (or use immediately). When taking stored spheres out of the freezer, put them into the intended serving glass and let them warm up for 3~ minutes - else they’re likely to crack from thermal shock as soon as you pour liquid over them. Some additional comments. You don’t need to use double boiled water or distilled water. Just use whatever water you normally drink (tap or filtered - both work fine). There will be some wasted water at the bottom of the freeze chamber, if you were to let it freeze completely, you’d find the bottom third almost completely cloudy - this is normal and expected.

Great product!
Crystal clear ice! I didn’t think a budget friendly product would work this well, but it does. It could have even been better had I followed the instructions. It said not to exceed 30 hours when making the ice balls. I completely forgot about it and took them out after closer to 60 hours. Still beautiful

Best buy for the money
Makes perfect clear ice. A little learning curve. How long you let it freeze is key. Pay attention and you will get perfect ice every time.

Works Perfectly
This does a great job of making perfectly clear ice spheres. Follow the instructions to a T, and take the advice of another reviewer here who said to let it sit on the counter for 15 minutes before trying to remove the ice (I do 10 minutes), and you'll have no problems. If you get spheres that aren't fully formed at the bottom, leave the next ones in for a bit longer - on my first try I left them in the freezer for 24 hours and had that problem, so I left the second run in for 26 hours and they were perfect. I will mention that if you're here because you want to make good-looking colored ice using food dye, it will not work - all the dye goes to the water at the bottom and the spheres still come out completely transparent. This was just an idea that I was hoping would work, but it's not stated anywhere in the description, so I'm not taking any points off for it - does an excellent job of what it's supposed to do.

Awesome clear balls!
Wow, this is amazing. The ice balls are really clear and slow melting. They are really beautiful. You have to read the directions for this to work. You need to melt the ice left in the bottom before you start a new set of balls. If you don't the balls will not be clear but cloudy. Also, to remove the frozen balls from the mold you have to pull one side of the mold then the other. But it is relatively easy to remove. You will get like two balls a day with this...not a lot more than that. So I have a container to hold all of the ice balls for later if needed. Basically you fill the bottom half with really warm water, then put the rubber mold in, and then fill with cold water. Then put in the freezer. The build quality is great. Packaging is great. 5 stars.

The Balls come out Perfectly
I’m using this to make crystal clear ice balls.they are about two inches in diameter., and perfect size to fit in a cocktail glass. It takes at least 24 hours to freeze properly. It is a bit difficult to remove the silicone pieces that form the balls, but, with patience and persistence, out they come! I recommend these for those people who like the novelty of clear ice in their drinks.
