Yes. We use them on our walking boots. Brought a size 5+ fits very well just the job to walk the dog in compact snow and ice

Can these go on adidas super star shoes size 5? I can't afford to buy walking boots atm

Short answer is yes. But.... Make sure you get the right size and also note that the rubber pull on over both toe and heel is quite firm, so for sturdy boots they are great but for trainers I suspect the rubber/elestic strength may compress the toe and heel of the trainers so might be uncomfortable.

Any advice on sizing? i.e. should I size up considering they are worn over boots?

Yes, go for a larger size. Even then they will be tight fit.

My shoe size is 6/7 just to make sure would size large grippers fit over boots.

I'm a size 10 , and the large size is adequate, medium for your 6/7.
