Hornady 050109 Lock-N-Load Balance Beam Scale : desertcart.in: Sports, Fitness & Outdoors Review: The Hornady Balance Beam Scale is a superb choice for an affordable, yet highly accurate reloading scale. While it's not exactly cheap at $75 (especially if you compare it to less accurate mass produced electronic scales, which I don't trust because of their tendency to drift off calibration), it is more affordable and just as accurate as its mid-priced, similarly-designed competitors (RCBS, Lyman, etc.). It will easily and consistently weigh loads to +/- 0.1 grain accuracy, assuming that you do due diligence by placing it on a level, stable surface and away from interference by ceiling fans, HVAC vents, or other forces that can subtly interfere with a balance scale's accuracy). Unlike some of its higher priced competitors, the balance bar on the Hornady scale is etched and painted, not marked with a stuck-on decal. The beam is also magnetically dampened so that it settles down and reads out the measurement quicker than a non-magnetized scale. If you are routinely measuring a variety of loads, then a high-end digital scale is probably a better bet for faster, more convenient use. But if you're just checking the consistency of your powder throw at a set weight at periodic intervals through a reloading session, then you can dial this scale in at the desired charge and periodically throw a load onto the removable pan to verify that it settles into balance (or is slightly high/low). The marks are very easy to read off, and with even a tenth of a grain of variance, the balance line shifts noticeably by about 1/32", making it easy to detect a slightly high or slightly low charge. I like it a lot, and I think you will too. [UPDATE 6-29-2015: I've been using this scale for many months of reloading and I'm still very pleased with it. Each time I start a reloading session, I adjust my powder station until it throws the desired weight of charge five times in a row. Then I start reloading and visually watch the powder level in each case as it cycles through. If all looks well, I only weigh every 50th charge to make sure nothing has shifted. With my Hornady LnL AP press, the powder station has proven ultra consistent, so it's always spot on. And the resulting ammo has been extremely consistent/accurate. I credit some of that precision to this handy little scale. Just make sure you set it and take measures while the AC/heat is NOT running. Even a mild air current can throw off the scale, since it's so accurate/sensistive.] Review: Qualità ottima, bilancia HORNADY meccanica, precisa , stabilissima, semplice l'utilizzo, scalda graduale in grani incisa al laser e ben definita. Venditore serio e affidabile. Grazie.

Excellent product. Should have bought it earlier. Went through so many different cheap electrical scales. none of them was reliable enough. got this to do cross check with the electrical as it's quick to fill on that, and then verify with beam scale for the final touch. load 75 rounds 308 for my ruger american predator. the best group was 0.35 MOA @ 200 yards. A must have.
