THE BEST KNIFE SHARPENER I'VE EVER USED
This really is a great product, it looks good, works very well and is just the right size. It arrives in smart packaging and immediately looks good when removed from its black box. It has a simple handle which is used to compress the tool against a flat surface to stop it moving around as the knife is sharpened, this simple design works well. The instructions explain that there are two sets of grinding wheels, steel for initial sharpening of blunt blades and a ceramic pair for honing sharp blades into very sharp blades. With the steel sharpener the knife is pulled firmly through at an angle of 20°, with the ceramic it is pulled gently through at the same angle. The result, very quickly, is a razor sharp knife, as sharp as it was the day you bought it! After I sharpened my first knife I was so impressed that I then went through my knife drawer and sharpened all my knives. The operation is so quick and simple that the maker's recommendation that knives be refreshed regularly to maintain their edge seems very reasonable.Just to confirm, I have no connection whatsoever with the manufacturers, they just make a very good product.

Just brilliant
Careful though, it really really sharpens your knives. Wafer thin tomatoe slices. Easy to use and very stable. You only need to run the blades a couple of times through the sharpener and they stay sharp for ages. Remember, you buy this because your knives are blunt and once you've sharpened them, they become a different knife that deserves respect in the kitchen. Great product, great design and gives life to all your old blunt and annoying knives, so, saves money too as you'll not need to buy new ones. Well done the manufacturer. 😁

Good but could be better !
A nice product which restored an edge to previously blunt stainless steel knives that a steel made no impression on. However I could not get a super sharp blade with this sharpener alone. It is a nice chunky solid item and was easy to use with fair instructions, if you forgive the mis-spelling of course for coarse. The very light pressure (just the weight of the blade) on the fine sharpener works well with heavy knives but thin blades knives need a light pressure or a finish with a steel. Generally a good product and value for money.

Sharp knives again!
I've had a few knife sharpening gadgets over the years and they always seemed to end up getting chucked away. But with my kitchen knives becoming blunter and blunter I gave in to optimism and tried this one.Very glad I did, all my kitchen knives are really sharp again. I now keep this gizmo on the work top by my knife block so that I can run a knife through it a few times every so often to keep them sharp and not let them gradually go blunt again. The sharpener is nicely made with a good handhold and a fully rubber covered base that ensures the sharpener doesn't move while in use. The two sharpening sections are easy to use, simple v shapes inset in slots that you just pull the knife backwards through. One set are for coarser grinding of dull blades while the other is for the fine grinding. When I first used it I found I was missing the slot every so often, but with practice I seem to have got better and better. One thing I've found is that it is easier when you do draw the knife through with the point angled slightly down (and it feels as though the grind is more effective too). When I first worked on my very dull knives I gave each blade 20 pulls through the 'coarse' grinder followed by 20 through the 'fine' grinder. This worked extremely well. Since then I've reduced the number of times I draw the knife through. Now I just do 5-6 'pulls' on a knife to keep the blades very sharp.Testing the blade by (only) touching my thumb against it I can feel how sharp the blade is now and I've been cutting through anything and everything again with ease. So, not the cheapest sharpener on offer, but based on the build, ease of use and results I've achieved I'm very happy to recommend it.

Wow! What a product.
I have a selection of proper chefs knives. Included in that kit is the sharpening steel to sharpen the blades. I can get them pretty sharp using that, but it's difficult.I decided to buy myself one of these, I'd been looking for a while, and finally settled on this one. Let me tell you, it's the best purchase I've made of late! It's really easy to use. Simply set it down on any flat surface (it doesn't rely on suction, the bottom is covered in a soft material) hold your knife with the tip pointed slightly down (about 20 degrees is recommended) and then pull the knife through from handle end to the tip. Now, you've got two slots to use. You start off with the course one first, usually about 4 pulls through, then you switch to the fine one and do about another 4 pulls. Wash the blade off to get rid of any little bits of metal and then you can cut whatever you want.It can be used left or right handed. I just make sure I have my thumb wrapped around the handle out of the way of the blade coming through, because I definitely wouldn't want to cut myself if I had my thumb out to the side.Seriously, you won't believe how quick and easy this is to sharpen your knives. I'm now easily able to slice peppers and tomatoes without any squashing.Totally recommended.
