Great Value and quality filter, worth every penny.
Done a lot of research before buying this, wanted a reasonable price, quality and something that would fit nicely in my 2 foot tank. This is it !! Originally bought the larger 2010, but didn't give me much space between the base of the filter and gravel, so bought this one. Well what can I say ?? Water is always crystal clear !! Even though it sucks up loads of plant debris, waste, and of course water, I have never had the flow decrease, the foam media is easy to clean and has always collected loads of bits..... Easily detachable filter media section, simply slides upwards (as in picture), so fixture and the main workings stay in your tank. Adjustable 180 degrees of flow direction and power using the nozzle on top, can add aeriation (one thing that is though hit and miss, needs a lot of fiddling I have found to get bubbles, but but not necessary). Filter media is fine foam, so simply rinse, and replace when required (not as recommended), some people state they have used the same foam for years. Has got quite large intake slots, but have found though if it does suck up anything living does survive (as have found a few live guppy fry in foam container when cleaning). There is hardly any noise levels coming from the filter, was a bit noisy for first few weeks, but seems to have worn in and almost silent. Highly recommend this filter, as low maintenance, cheap to run (as you don't have to keep spending out for new foam/filter media, main reason I got this, as was spending £4 a month on media with Marina filter), quiet, pretty stylish (but would be bulky in smaller tanks), plenty of space in foam/media section to put carbon or other media bits if needed). Great buy, highly recommend....

quiet, well made, right size
I don't usually leave reviews on products, but in this instance I feel compelled to praise this one. I’ve been searching for a quiet filter for my small (~60L) rectangular aquarium. I’ve tried many filters, but they were either too noisy, didn’t grip the glass, or were too strong for the tank’s size. This product is amazing; I’m so happy to have found it. It was easy to set up, grips the glass very well, and glides up and down smoothly. I have it about 1 cm below the water surface with the waterfall on top. I simply love how quiet and effective it is.

Powerful and effective
The best “small” internal filter I have owned; it is powerful and does a good job of keeping the water clear. Easy to clean as well, with no filter cartridges needed in contrast to some other brands. You simply squeeze the sponge a few times in tank water and put it back. The first drawback is obvious as soon as you get it out of the box; it is rather bulky. The other drawback is although the output is adjustable, due to the mechanism used, the whole filter tends to move when you try to reduce or increase the flow, and it is definitely a two-hand job.

5 months and still going strong
I've seen some reviews complaining that this filter didn't keep their tank clean. I'll make it clear that filters are NOT there to keep your tank sparkling clean. It's there to aerate the water, remove debris and some harmful elements from the water. You still need to perform 50% water changes weekly/biweekly. All tanks require elbow grease and care, if you want something that "cleans" your tank you wont find it. I have the pickup 60 and it's currently in a 60 litre tank which is pushing the boundary of what this unit can do. I have to say though it's handling it well and aerating the water without a hitch. I've had no stoppages or blockages (and I cycled my tank with fish food and not ammonia, so you can imagine the gunk thats gone through this thing). The unit is quiet and only eminates a slight hum, in fact it's that quiet that one day I switched the power off by the mains (obviously on accident) and it took me a couple of hourse to realise that I did so. I didn't even notice when it was off. It's easy to clean, it comes apart to 3 different pieces, the "lid" the "main compartment" and then the "mechanical" compartment. It makes it really easy to clean. It can be taken apart whilst running but I really don't recommend that. All in all it's a good little filter and I will be getting more filters from Eheim (I have their Jager heater too, and thats doing well too). I really do recommend this brand from what I've seen so far, theyre easy to use and seem to be made of sturdy stuff!

Powerful Pickup
AWESOME filter. I've only used Interpet and one that came standard with my first tank but seemed generic, there was no branding on it so I can't speak of the make of it. I found the Interpet got very dirty, it broke twice, and was loud. This is incredible. It's simple and intuitive to use but does a really good job. I brought it for my new 48L tank that houses a school of Neon Tetras and have used for a few months before reviewing to make sure it was really good, and it is. You can slide it out without a bunch of gunk coming loose because you don't need to take the whole filter out to clean/change the filter media, it's just the green housing and the spout on top. There are three ways to have the wire going with little clips to close off the other two channels that you don't use, and very strong suction cups to keep everything in place. A good amount of surface movement is made and if you pull it a little higher than the surface then the waterfall effect makes a lot of bubbles, this makes it a bit louder but the fish do love it. I've cut a hole in the middle of some carbon filters to place on top of the sponge filter this comes with just to remove some medication when needed and it fits in perfectly, there is a little gap all the way around which I have added some finer filter floss to just for if a back up filter is ever needed and this can then be added to a QT tank or something, I did worry I was cramming it too full of media but it holds up brilliantly. It's a quiet, powerful, simple filter that I think most fish keepers could do with trying.

Couldn't be happier. Very quiet and filters the water well. The venturi for the bubbles is great, I watch some one on you tube to figure oit how to get it set right. Will be buying another for ny 2nd tank. I bought the one sent from UK Amazon as they were a lot cheaper than the AU versions and I just use a UK travel adapter.

Spedizione Amazon come sempre impeccabile.
