Absolutely great little product! My folks bought it as a birthday present for my 8 year old son. It comes in a cute little lunch box package & each tool is in it's own box. Everything fits together perfectly & it's easy to take with us everywhere... and believe me.. he takes it everywhere! They are actual quality tools but are made for little hands & are durable. Only the fan requires batteries. I strongly recommend this product as a gift for any little explorer, nature lover or bug & animal enthusiast! Great buy for the money.. totally exceeded my expectations!

IF you're like us, you have no shortage of toys in the house — legos, Paw Patrol, stuff animals, etc etc etc. So when birthday No. 3 came around, we went looking for something a bit different. That's when we found the Explorer Kit. I knew it would be perfect. Our son loves walking the trails in the woods near our how. Now he has the perfect little companion to make those hikes even more entertaining. The binoculars are definitely his favorite, the multi-tool with the whistle being second. The little carrying case is great. Each of the included pieces is well built. Take the fan for instance: We have one from work and this little one for kids works infinitely better than that one. You can buy this with confidence!

I bought this for my niece for Christmas (she's 6), and everything in the kit is pretty good quality, considering that it's meant for kids. The binoculars are really good, the compass is high-quality, and the whistle even has a mini compass on it. My only complaint is that after about a month and a half, the flashlight no longer works. It did work when we first got it, but now no matter how much you crank it, it won't hold a charge. But overall, it's still a good package, and my niece had it out the other night and told me she was pretending to camp with her explorer's kit. My goal in getting this for her was to inspire her to want to get outside more and explore, so it seems like it did the trick!

Keeps kids busy for hours exploding their own back yards

I am going to be one of those people who say, “they never leave a review...” because it’s true.I had to review this item because it’s simply amazing. My 4.5 year old is obsessed. Each item in the kit is high quality. They are individually boxed within the storage container, making it fun for him to open.The best part is that we can store everything in the tin box when we are doing exploring. My son’s personal favorites are the binoculars (comes with a string to wear around neck), small fan (batteries included!), and the compass (contains a whistle in case you got lost...I mean cmon!)Great buy! I plan on buying it for future birthday gifts!

This product takes a group of fun gadgets and packages them in a lunch box style carrying case. Immediately my 6 year old son took the kit and added his own things to it and it has become his go to fun outside kit. The individual parts are the same as you have seen elsewhere, none of the individual parts are professional quality however, here they match. I have found that, as it is a kit, he is taking much better care of everything than if I would have given him the individual items. I give this 5 stars as it is a great value and a great option in its class.

My 4 year old son absolutely loved this set for this birthday. It's very clever and has a lot of features. I was also very happy with the quality of this product, at first.However, the flashlight does not actually charge. It is run purely on battery. The crank is just a fake feature. My son loved the flashlight and used it so much that it was dead within a month. I tried taking it apart and replacing the battery but it didn't work. The fan has also now died within 4 months after purchase. I tried to replace the batteries but the spring are corroded and rusty. I tried to repair the connectors with vinegar but to no avail. Otherwise, the mechanical toys included in the kit are in good form. I wish they improved quality of the electrical toys because they are more attractive to children.

My nephew loved this gift! The hand crank flashlight was an instant hit. "No batteries and it still lights up?!?!" He is five and his younger brother is 2 and even he was excited by this gift. I sent an email ~ the tin arrived quite dinged up. I was able to pop it out and the lid still closes, but there are still some dents. Also, the Compass doesn't work. It bobs around but doesn't change direction. I understand that this is a kids toy but I am curious to know if it is broken or intended to be "fake". Either way, I'm quite happy with this product. The kids have been playing with it for 3 days now and I haven't heard of any mishaps yet.
