Easy Murphy Wall Queen, Full, Twin Bed Project Plans - Design #0ESY1

It's a truly brilliant idea for creating a murphy bed without having to spend upwards of $300 for just the hardware. I have built 2 murphy beds using Create-a-Bed hardware. Their hardware is foolproof and makes an excellent bed but costs $359 locally. I have 3 more murphy beds to make in the coming year and will use this plan instead. Thanks.

Directions were confusing and oddly laid out. This is not a project for a beginner wood worker. Not a weekend project unless you can devote every second to it and even then you need dry time for glued joints.I would stay away from this unless you are a skilled wood worker with more than basic knowledge.

The plans for the queen size bed have typos or if you want to state it plainly the numbers to cut are incorrect. i couldn't find where the suggested hardware should be purchased and when I did find a door closer manufacturer they stated that they had tested their hardware and said it did NOT work for Murphy Wall beds. The typos alone are enough to discredit these plans. If they stated where to order the hardware and where to place the hardware on the plans then I would forgive the typos in the lengths of the boards to be cut.

The plans are not detailed enough and expensive at that. If you do not have carpenter's skills it will be hard to put together. Not impressed, not enough information to build this Murphy bed.

received the plans in a timely manner. Modified slightly to fit my use, and it all worked out really well. The instructions aren't written in the best english at some times but you'll the get the idea. As another reviewer stated, the pin hinges were just not the easy to find. I couldn't locate anything called a "pin hinge" and nor could any of the local wood-working stores. I used a few Piano type hindges and modified some measurments and it came out really nice. I also didn't like the nut bolt type pivot so I used a different set-up that seems to work really nice and doesn't leave you with a huge bolt head on the outside of the cabinet. It is heavy and 1 person can lower but 2 people make it easy. The door struts make it easy to close and it will go up with one person. The completed product is worth the money. est total cost is $325-350

Great product

Some instruction hard to understand, example of pin hinges and where to purchase them. The storm door operator inadequate for the weight of mattress, requires two people to open and close the bed.

I was under the assumption that I a book, not a copy of plans. I don't think 12 copies of paper is worth $24.00. I am extremely disappointed in this product.
