Long time or not to Focus
Review: 7 Artisans EF-SE Lens Adapter I recently purchased the 7 Artisans EF-SE lens adapter, and after using it in various situations, my experience fell short of expectations. Build Quality The adapter is solidly built and uses good quality materials. The fit between the camera body and the lens is firm, with no looseness, which provides confidence when handling the equipment. In terms of physical construction, the adapter does its job well. Compatibility and Functionality However, when it comes to compatibility and performance, the adapter is quite disappointing. The lenses take a long time to focus, which compromises efficiency during use. Additionally, during the focusing process, the lens emits a continuous internal noise that resembles a sort of "rushing," which is concerning. This not only affects the overall experience but also makes me worry that prolonged use could damage my lenses, which would be a major issue. Performance The slow focus is further worsened by the mechanical noise from the lenses, making the use of the adapter frustrating. For those who need agility and precision, the performance is insufficient and makes it unfeasible for tasks requiring speed or high quality. Value for Money Considering the price, which is not cheap, I expected a product that delivered more. The adapter promises a lot but fails in crucial areas like focus efficiency. Moreover, the potential risk of damaging the lenses due to malfunction makes the value for money even more questionable. Paying a high price for a product that compromises the safety of my equipment is definitely not worth it. Conclusion Unfortunately, the 7 Artisans EF-SE adapter did not meet expectations, and due to its performance issues and the risk of damaging my lenses, I’ve decided to return the product. I would not recommend this purchase for anyone seeking reliability and safety for their equipment.

The only EF-SE adapter that I've found works for video
I've used this adapter for my Canon EF lenses on a Sony E mount camera. It's the only EF to E mount adapter I've used that is able to focus in video to an acceptable standard, without hunting or constant missing the target. The autofocus sound is loud, but that's due to the design of the Canon lenses using USM focusing motors, not the adapter. Make sure if using for video that your microphone is mounted off the camera so it doesn't record the noise, or alternatively use manual focus when quiet sound is needed. The only better solution for video, in my mind, is to use Sony native lenses, which are much quieter. For stills photography, the sound issue doesn't apply.

Yes. I. Am now use this to add the better lens I had for my canon and connect it to the Sony camera. Saved a bundle of not having to buy new lenses.

So-so adaptor, it kinda works, kinda is just not worth the effort
Adapts EF lenses and autofocus works, I can't get aperture to work though, it either gets stuck wide open or it contracts all the way. Very rarely I can get it to behave but 99/100 times it will just ignore whatever aperture you think you're setting it to. You can press and hold a button on the adaptor as you add it to your Sony camera and this gives it different modes like a contrast detect or a Phas detect approach. It makes some functions work and others not. There's been some firmware updates but where it fixes one thing it breaks others. I found firmware 1.4 gave me good autofocus, and then 1.7 seems to have broken it. I saw on Reddit there was a guy releasing more firmware updates but could never get those to update into the adaptor, so – Stuck on 1.7 for now. I ended up just getting Sony glass, not worth all this temperamental faff

Autofocus won’t autofocus
Autofocus keeps hunting constantly and not focusing at all when using this adapter, had to resort to manual focus for everything instead. Whole reason I bought this was because it was electronic and autofocus should work with it Disappointing. Hope it’s just a bad one but I have missed the return window now unfortunately

Works but don’t think it’s the most compatible.
For what i paid for it im not mad just know it’ll work great unless ur doing high burst shots constantly during a shoot - like sports photography. Other than that? Great.
