What Do You See? Around the World : Broderick, Kathy, Fronc, Andrea: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Very good to give a perspective to kids about the world’s greatest cities my 18 months old daughter has fun looking at pictures Review: Pro: This book is cute and my three-year old son really likes it. Con: We bought the book for the purpose of showing our son different countries and cultures and I am shocked that almost the entire book are Western locations with majority white populations (New York City, San Fransisco, Canada, Australia, London and Paris), nearly all of which are English speaking. There is not one African country (which makes no sense to me for a book about the world). Also, the only pages that are split are Mexico/Peru, as apparently neither could get their own spread (even though San Francisco got its own)! All in all, this book has a nice concept, but the execution is ethnocentric.

Love this book! Simple enough to not overwhelm a child, but engaging enough to hold their attention! As a travel addict, I love sharing the world with my children!

My 16 month old loves pointing to all the pictures and is learning a lot of words he wouldn’t have otherwise! “Bagel” and “Queen” are 2 of his new favorites
