Hello is this a good first lens for a beginners first camera (sony a7c)?

To second what Sammy said, this is the BEST general use, mid-level zoom in it’s class for this camera. It is professional grade and is thus very expensive. If looking for a beginners lens, I would start with the f/4 or Sigma/Tamron variants as the differences in image quality will not be a deal-breaker and/or very noticeable for someone first starting off. Of course, if you can afford it and it’s within your budget, you can’t get any better than this in the 24-70mm range. Otherwise, save a huge chunk of money and get the variants. Hope this helps!

Great lens but very expensive

Pros:- ultra sharp- fantastic image quality- fast and sticky auto focus- good build quality- size and weight- cute little lens bag (nice touch but I've never used it for anything)cons:- PRICE
