Worked perfectly. I actually found that the impression was deeper and clearer on slightly softened dough rather than hard directly from the fridge. I used a pastry brush with floured on the entire rolling pin before each use and never did the dough stick. The depth of the embossed design is perfect for imprinting on the dough. I put each tray n the freezer for 20 minutes before baking and the design stayed crisp.

I purchased this for making pies and was very pleased that after using it, I did not have to clean it at all! I did treat it with mineral oil when it arrived and chilled the rolled out crust before using the embossed pin on the dough. One thing I learned is that in prerolling the chilled crust with a flat rolling pin, leave it a little thicker because you will be rolling it again with the embossed pin. Have not tried it with cookies yet.11/14/21 Update! Chill the rolling pin too!

What a wonderful addition to my baking tools! Works far better than I expected. A little light dusting of flour on the rolling pin and also a little on the dough you will be rolling on and it works like a charm! Have already made beautiful cookies and also a pie.

This is a great quality rolling pin! I had no issues with my gingerbread cookie dough sticking to the rolling pin however the recipe must be too cake like as the design baked away as the cookies rose and spread in the oven. Can’t wait to try it with a shortbread recipe and pie crust as well!

It makes beautiful patterns in cookie dough or pie crusts. Needs a lot of flour to keep it from sticking.

Bought this for my mother over Christmas. She was so excited. Immediately set to making pie crusts and cookies with it.
