Great for chicken coops!
This was relatively easy to install for our chicken coop and as long as you have the panel in a spot that gets plenty of sun the fan will run well and fast to provide great ventilation. So far the quality is good, and its not too noisy. The only thing I would change is for the product to have the ability to store power or have an attachment for an extra battery for constant run time throughout the night (more for winter months when more moisture will be present). Overall I would highly recommend.

Bought 5/23, it’s 11/24 and still running
I purchased this exhaust fan for my old chicken coop in May 2023 to help with the crazy south Florida heat. It’s now December 1, 2024 and it’s still running. We demolished that old coop but I kept the fan. I turned it around so that it blows air into a small area of the new coop. Worked great pulling hot air out of the top of the old coop and works great blowing air into the bottom of the new one. It is solar and the unit is made of plastic, it’s not that loud and it works. The Sun has to be on the panel for it to work. If you walk by the panel and cast your shadow over the panel, it slows the fan down. It’s not something that will cool an area, but it does help move air and pull out the heat. We have two other regular fans to help cool the area down and move air.

Works fine
Has to be in direct sunlight. Won't turn if the panel is in the shade. The power cord from the panel to the fan is only like 10ft long. Other than that everything works like it should. Perfect for ventilation on my chicken coop. I'll unplug it during the winter

Great Entry into Solar
I bought this as an exhaust fan for my chicken coop. The fan works well and move a lot of air. I have since expanded the solar setup by adding a 12v battery so the fan also runs at night. This served as a great starter kit to get into solar DIY.The one negative about this setup is that the fan recently started to run slowly and stop spinning. I am almost sure this is because I had been adding some DE in the coop and the exhaust fan had gotten very caked up. However, after contacting Sun Energise, their support was very smooth and I was able to receive a replacement part.Overall, great product, just be careful about using continuously in a dusty environment without cleaning...but I guess that applies to any fan ;).

It works as advertised
How often can you say that! The first time I purchased this was for the tack room in a metal barn. We have humid summers and this was enough to keep the air moving and fresh. There was a noticeable difference in the temperature of the room all summer long. The amount of sunlight shining on the panel determines the speed of the fan. It’s dust right now but still works. I like that it has a switch that can turn it off. However, I’ve left it running all winter. It been running daily for a year and a half with zero issues. I bought a second fan for the enclosed hay barn. It worked all summer long until a rodent chewed through the cord.

Great customer service, but necessary hole is bigger than I would like.
Update: the fan only lasted 4-5 months before it wuit working. Downgrading my original rating. This solar panel works as intended. On when the sun is out, off when it isn't. Install is pretty easy. 2 things you'll need to be aware of:1. This solar panel has a standard male/female screw connector. The problem is that the male and thumb screw connector is on the solar panel side (the long cord), not the fan side. Because of this, you'll need to put a 1" hole in your roof to get the cord in.2. No mounting hardware with the solar panel, so if you want to mount it anywhere, you'll pay extra for that. The company is great and easy to work with. I had an issue, and they took great care of me. If you're aware of and ok with #1 and #2 it's a great buy.

It works well, and the seller is very persistent at making things right
The system includes a long power lead from the solar panel to the fan. The lead out of the fan is very short, maybe a foot long, and the on/off switch is in-line with that. This means that in order to switch the fan on or off, you must be within reach of the fan itself. There is no putting this near the ceiling of a garage or tall shed unless you make other means for turning it on and off. I made an extension for the wiring to bring the disconnect in reach. I'm sure you could order a similar extension here on Amazon. To those who might think, "well, I'll just hang it upside down", no. The exit door/ air flap is closed by gravity and opened via airflow. Hung upside down, the air flap would be permanently open, and would probably even redirect rainwater into the structure.Update: I finished the install and I'm a bit happier with it today. With the solar panel on the roof of the shed it's getting good sunlight and good airflow throughout the day. Even with a bit of overcast it seems to do OK.Update 2: The seller contacted me 3 times before I responded, and offered to send me a replacement fan which arrived today. I don't know if the new fan is any better (it looks the same) but 5 stars for being a stellar seller.Update 3: 6/6/24, one day short of a year from my original purchase, the original fan has died. I've replaced it with the second fan sent by the seller (thank you!) and we shall see how well it lasts. Keeping the current rating for now because with a little work I am back in business.Update 4: 3/30/25, 9 months down the road and the replacement fan has died. Love the seller's responsiveness, but the motor just isn't reliable enough to handle daylight hours duty.

Stopped working after a few weeks
I was eager to get this fan installed. It tested fine out of the box and worked well after it was installed. A few weeks after I installed it, I noticed it was not working at all for no apparent reason. The solar panel is in full, unobstructed, afternoon sun. Nothing is rubbing nor obstructing the fan blade and it spins freely when rotated by hand. It just stopped working. It was a real job to get it installed in a not easy to access location too. Amazon was unable to accept a return as it was just over the 30-day return window (which sucks.). Luckily, I was able to get a very helpful Amazon agent, who found a way to get a refund on the item as a one-time exception. So, purchase with caution.
