Fantastic Device UK based car flipper. Do not waste your money on sub par cheap devices or extreme dealer level OBD kit you will not be able to use. This device hits the sweet spot. Having access to dealer level obd equipment and snap on/autel devices that are £500-£2k the Anyscan A30-M is unbeatable value for money even at twice its price. It has a huge range of compatibility, has enough special functions to keep a seasoned mechanic happy and is simple to learn and operate for a new user. A cheaper device will only read basic codes, the expensive ones will cost you more per year in updates than the purchase price of this. Upon first use we used the device to wipe 8 error codes from one vehicle after a new engine fit, reset an airbag light, diagnose a faulty window regulator, faulty abs sensor and provide live data to analyse an issue on another purchase. It has carried out any function we have required from it. Live data can be recorded and saved to file format for review by another party if required. Tips: - Install the app on an old android tablet with shock case for a dedicated professional look device. - Allow 10GB minimum for app and all updates - If it cannot find vehicle VIN find your year and engine number and it will connect - If these devices are new to you, spend a few hours playing around with it and hitting play/pause on an instructional to learn how to really get the most out of it. -Ensure it is the A30M you purchase as the A30 and A30D are not as powerful. Setup: 1) Get chosen device, download/install anyscan app by Xtool on playstore. 2)Open app and register your A30M via serial number on device rear. 3) Hit the update icon in the app and download packages from your chosen manufacturers. 4) With engine and ignition off insert A30M into your vehicles OBD port, a red light will show. 5) Ensure Bluetooth is turned on your phone/tablet, start the ignition and pair with the A30M. A blue light will now also show. 6) Tap on the app to Autoscan/diagnose the vehicle and begin. A green communication light will now also show on device. If VIN reading fails, use the year and engine model method above to connect. I hope this was helpful. If this doesn't save you money from unnecessary garage work you must drive a 2CV!

I'm very impressed with this A30M diagnostic device from Xtool. I'm going to keep it in the car for emergency use and we'll as regular diagnostic checkups on my own car and friends/family cars. I've owned cheaper USB diagnostic devices in the past, but this is in a different league: 🟢 Helped find the fault to allow an easy fix on a reoccurring airbag problem 🟢 Loads of diagnostic and service options that simply aren't available on other brands at a similar price 🟢 Has some bi-directional capabilities to test components 🟢 Made of metal and feels well made and sturdy 🟢 Had lots of regular firmware updates 🟢 Super easy to use and fast app - no lags 🟢 Works on any modern android and iphones 🟢 Fast reply to support email questions 🟡 I can't access the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) maintenence mode on a Ford Mondeo 2017. Emailed support and hoping for a future firmware upgrade 🟡 Android app not available on the play store at the time of this review, but available on the website or via the support email addresses (replied in mins to my questions 👍🏻) 🔴 None!

It works at it says. The mobile app could be better but it is good enough for me and you can save diagnostics reports, then you can convert to PDF or print them. I would like it more if it had a computer software or application that could work with the gadget. I gave 5 star since it is a competent gadget considering the size and price tag, also there's no subscription fee for updating the app. Some other manufacturers charge subscription fee for using their apps or software which is not fair for this level of diagnostics tools. I couldn't find a better scanner in this range, and it's somehow better than other more pricy ones!

The 26 + reset and service functions from oil-reset to EPB, DPF regeneration, injector coding and battery management are often only available with expensive dealer tools, yet this A30M offers them all with no subscription fees. The wireless Bluetooth connection is rock-solid up to around 10 m, making it easy to keep my phone handy while working under the bonnet. But that said, performance, reliability, and overall value make this a top-tier diagnostic tool for any car owner or DIYer. Perfect for diy jobs especially with those 26 special functions. The downside to this gadget is it comes with 100 updates to download wich takes few hours and I had to download benz software one's I plugged it in the car. You can save 20 pounds on ebay.

Hallo, Ich habe bereits Erfahrungen mit verschiedenen Testern gemacht und möchte meine Aktuelle Meinung zu dem Gerät teilen. Die App: Sie wird im AppStore heruntergeladen und ist Standard mäßig auf Deutsch eingestellt, man muss den Kontakt anschreiben um die Deutsche Sprache der Inhalte zu bekommen, ansonsten wird angezeigt das es keine Updates gibt, wer gleich starten will, Sprache auf Englisch und dann kann man sofort die Updates herunterladen. Auch das umstellen auf Deutsche Sprache erfolge in 24H, über Anschreiben des Supportes, netter Kontakt ! Der Aufbau der App ist sehr übersichtlich, keine Stores, keine Werbung, einfach eine reine Diagnose Software, wer Thinkcar/Mucar kennt wird erst einmal von Angeboten und Community Inhalten geplagt, was hier nicht der Fall ist, Top ! Ich habe 2 Fahrzeuge getestet, einen Polo 6N BJ2000 und einen Golf 7 GTD BJ 2013, beide Fahrzeuge wurden erkannt, der Polo muss über eine manuelle VIN suche initialisiert werden, was aber kein Problem darstellt mit Fahrzeugschein. Der Golf 7 wurde problemlos mit Automatischer Suchfunktion erkannt. Zu beachten ist, wer wie ich ein IPad besitzt welches kein Mobilfunknetz Besitz sollte es mit seinem Handy (mobiler Hotspot) koppeln für ein schnelleres Suchergebnis. (automatische Suche), wenn dies nicht geschieht wird bei mir ein ewig ladender Kreis angezeigt. Also W-LAN oder Handy koppeln. Fehlerspeicher: Die Steuergeräte werden systematisch geprüft in einer sehr schnellen Durchführung, anschließend werden ggf. Mit Fehler belastete Steuergeräte mit den entsprechenden Codes und der Beschreibung angezeigt. Ebenfalls lassen sich die Fehler sauber löschen und es wird ein Diagnosebericht erstellt welcher über einen Button dann als email versendet, oder gedruckt werden kann. Kleiner Tipp, wer mit Chat GPT arbeitet kann die PDF dort einfügen mit z.B. dem Text :“Hallo, analysiere bitte diesen OBD2 Fehlerbericht und bewerte ihn inclusive ggf. Anfallenden Lösungsvorschlägen.“ Super um sich Ideen oder Hilfestellungen über die Fehler zu verschaffen ! Das Programm verfügt über aktuell (07.10.25) über 26 Service Funktionen welche entsprechend der Funktionalität des Fahrzeuges oder der Unterstützung angewendet werden können, z.B. neue Batterie anlernen was ich hier noch als Rezession erweitern werde nach der Durchführung an einem Golf 7 GTD. Das Programm verfügt über bidirektionales Testen was heißt ich kann in den entsprechenden Steuergeräten Funktionen über die App ansteuern wie z.B. Elemente des Tacho, Lüftergebläse usw. Beispiel: Euer Fenster öffnet nicht mehr über den Schalter, also steuere ich das Fenster an, fährt es nun, weiß ich dass der Schalter defekt ist, nicht der Motor. Datenströme: Ebenfalls lassen sich Fahrzeugspezifische Datenströme oder OBD2 live Werte auslesen, was sehr praktisch ist wenn man wissen will ob die Lambdasonde richtig regelt, der Luftmassenmesser genug Luft fördert, oder eben ob gewisse Parameter auffällig sind, es gibt wirklich sehr viele Parameter, wenn diese ausgewählt werden, werden diese ebenfalls in dem oben erwähnten Bericht eingefügt was ich super finde ! Verarbeitung: Software läuft stabil, bis jetzt keine Probleme mit der Verbindung Der Dongle beinhaltet eine verbaute Taschenlampe, sehr gut durchdacht ! Der Dongle ist am Rand (schwarz) und OBD Stecker aus Plastik, das Gehäuse ansonsten aus Metall ! Der OBD 2 Anschluss selbst kann bei einigen Fahrzeugen ggf. Probleme machen weil er leicht spitz zuläuft, deshalb rate ich eine OBD2 Verlängerung mit zu bestellen welche man dann dort verbindet Fazit: ersetzt dieser Stecker einen teuren Tester ? Nein, er kann nicht codieren, und hat auch keine geführten Funktionen, aber dafür wurde er auch nicht konzipiert, ist der Tester das beste was man mobil im Auto oder Daheim als Hobby, oder gar als kleine Werkstatt haben kann ? Ich denke er ist aktuell Konkurrenzlos auf seinem Gebiet und in seinem Preis vor allem wenn man bedenkt das er Lebenslange Updates bietet ! ********************** Nachtrag: Ich habe heute die Batterie für einen Golf 7 GTD BJ: 2013 ohne Probleme mit dem Equipment anlernen können, habe die alte 60A Batterie gegen eine 70A Batterie des gleichen Herstellers getauscht, hat ohne viel Aufwand funktioniert. Anschließend mit der Software eine Probefahrt gemacht, Fehler geprüft und gelöscht. Batterie hat mich 140 Euro gekostet, anlernen und Montage selbst erledigt, ich denke bei vw alles in allem ~ 350 Euro (Batterie,Montage,Anlernen) hat sich quasi schon rentiert.
