Is this this the correct sodder to use when working on circuit boards

I use it for wiring small switches on my model railway. It's fairly thin so doesn't take many seconds to melt. I would think it's OK for soldering components on a circuit board.

can i use this to repair a sterling silver ring?

I think the binding force on soldering is too weak for ring. This is usually for electronic components assembly.
