Excellent quality bottles, thick plastic, handsome appearance, better than competing brands
If you own an Aarke Carbonator, do yourself a favor and spend the few extra bucks on these bottles so you have extras to work with. These bottles are handsome and excellent quality as well. I also use SodaStream bottles with the Aarke Carbonator, which fit and work okay. I find that they are sometimes difficult to screw on and it takes 4 or 5 tries to get the threads lined up in the machine. These Aarke bottles screw in much easier the first time and are noticeably better quality. They are much more expensive than SS versions as well, but you get what you pay for. These are a thicker, more durable plastic than the SS brand bottles.I have been using soda machines/sparkling water makers/carbonators for years. I have continued to use the bottles well past their legally required "expiration date" that is printed on every bottle, regardless of brand or manufacturer. If they were to ever appeared compromised or show signs of wear, I would throw them out. So far, this has never happened.Do not expose these bottles to high temperatures or direct sunlight, they will warp and melt. Expect to wash these bottles by hand using warm water. I only wash bottles by hand with a dish soap 'shake & rinse'. Unless you are allowing them to sit for days to mold and mildew inside between washings, It does not even require a bottle brush. I am not sure why anyone would try putting these in a dishwasher. Clearly, these could not possibly get cleaned correctly in an automatic dishwasher. The dishwasher is not capable of getting water inside these through the small opening, spraying detergent into all areas of the bottle, and then rinsing properly -- so give up on that idea. It's nonsense.

A great product that is also economically smart
Arrived on time and in good condition. Being able to refill our own CO2 tanks is not only good for the environment. It is less expensive and the sparkling water tastes great. We have started adding pure lemon lime and grapefruit flavoringwithout sweeteners. Fantastic..

Well Built!
These are quality through and through. I will be purchasing more. They are sturdy and sealed tight ensuring that you do not lose carbonation. They do have a expiration date which is unfortunate but it is about 2 years from the date of purchase as far as I can tell.

Bottles are good quality and...
Bottles are identical to the one that I got with the Aarke machine. I appreciate the stainless bottoms, worth the extra "buck" for stability as well as the bottles are just a tad thicker than the ones I've had for years before I upgraded from the Soda Stream "system" - Been using Soda Stream for years - wore it out & when I went to replace it (non-electrical one) they had cheapened it up so it almost fell over when trying to charge bottles so I had to return & invest in the Aarke. While I still do the co2 bottle exchange with soda stream, unless they go back to the quality of machines from years ago, when I wear out this Aarke, which I don't expect to happen anytime soon, I'll buy another Aarke.

Updating my previous review to 5 stars
Updating my previous review to 5 stars because I bought one of these almost 3 years ago and I must admit it had problems and then stopped working. Seems some internal piece broke off. The five stars comes from 2 things- I wrote the company and they immediately replaced it(during the pandemic I might add) and also because every thing wrong with my early model was fixed. No spitting or issues attaching cartridges. I use it everyday so it has to sit on my counter so extra dollars for visuals was worth it.

Good but comes apart. Update. Another Update
I like the Aarke system quite a bit. It comes with only one bottle, so you really need the extra one.I also like the bottle shape and material. They are date stamped - to make sure you replace them.I rinse by hand with room temp water, using soap & bottle brush occasionally. But mine separated as others have pointed out - at both the cap and the base. The function is unaffected, but with such a nice design on everything else, you would expect them to have used the right adhesive.I chose Gorilla Glue, figuring it might have a little give. I suspect the issue is connected to constant expansion and contraction with cold and heat between the metal and the plastic - both of which do so at different rates.Let the mansplaining stop here. It seems to have worked.Bottle probably should not have to cost $20.00.Good quality bottle itself. Just be prepared to do a quick home repair.December 2023 update: Aarke seems to have modified the assembly and the bottle seems to stay together better. Still too pricey. I have the smaller bottles, too now, and they are handy for transport/to-go.Seeing the pro model available which uses the glass bottles, I would prefer that system to the standard. I love the glass bottle. That being said the standard carbonator is great looking, works well and still satisfies.January 2004.I am thinking the product is fine, but the transaction and the expiration date are not satisfactory.Price seemed all over the place.Listed as a single 2-pack kit.Showing $32 now, but $49 when I ordered (I guess this can happen).Received 1/2004 - expiration is 4/24 (3 months from now!!).Shipped from UK, I think. Not used, but I think the box had been opened because the plastic around the bottle was torn. The bottles appeared to have the updated design to address the separation issue.I just purchased the smaller size through Amazon (may not have been the same seller?) and they were fine with a two-year expiration date.I guess I should return these.
