Uniball ~ Look No Further! A+++
I was very excited to receive these pens. I like to use a good pen that is easy on your hand to write with, especially when doing a lot of writing and studying, as this is essential. I love TUL pens, but for this particular use, BIBLE study, marginal comments, and so forth, I did not want the bleed-through that some pens afford. So, my search started, and EVERYONE commented on the excellence of these pens, ease of writing, no bleed-through, crisp, sharp, fine lines without skipping, smudging, or smearing. Well, these pens tick off all those points for me, too. All the Uniball pens I have purchased are excellent and meet my needs; the micro point is a true "fine line" pen, the colors are good, and they dry quickly if not instantly. I will continue to use these as one of my favorite pens for BIBLE study. I am very pleased.

This pen writes smoother than a jazz saxophone in a bubble bath
I don't usually get emotional about office supplies, but these Uni-ball One pens? They changed me. The ink glides like it's on a mission from the handwriting gods. No scratchiness, no hesitation, just pure, silky lines that make my grocery lists look like calligraphy written by a monk with perfect posture. The 0.5 mm tip is sharp enough to slice through my existential dread but gentle enough for even the most fragile Post-it Note. It dries fast too, which is perfect for lefties, impatient people, or anyone who’s ever accidentally dragged their hand across freshly written text and ruined both the paper and their will to live. The clip is strong, the click is satisfying, and the pen feels expensive enough to trick people into thinking I have my life together. I bought the 12-pack so I could lose 11 of them slowly over the next year like a true adult. If you want a pen that writes like a dream and makes you feel 10% more competent, get this. Then write a thank-you note to yourself in perfect, smudge-free ink.

Perfect smooth & lightweight pen!
I love this pen so much that I go out of my way to find reasons to use it. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it at first but it’s actually perfect for my writing preferences. It has a slim body, comfortable grip, smooth and quick drying gel, with a precise fine-point nib. The pen feels light weight and sleek. I haven’t had any trouble with it skipping ink or fading out while writing. I also have no problems with my writing smearing (right handed). But just a word of advice, if you’re going to use a highlighter over your ink, then let the ink dry really well first. Whenever I highlight the ink before it dries it will definitely smear BUT when I properly let the ink dry first, then it’s perfect, no smearing! I’ve been using 1 pen EVERYDAY (out of a pack of 5) and so far it’s lasted me a LONG time. I still have 90% of the ink left in just my first pen. I consider this Uniball One pen to be both great quality and good long term use. I will absolutely buy them again in the future. I might consider trying out some of the other ink colors as well.

Good Pens
Sleek design, rich ink. Depending on how you write, ink can come out patchy. These pens seem sensitive to pressure and angle that your write with.

Maybe look for something else
I recently purchased a Uni Jetstream to use as my primary writing pen for note-taking, and I was genuinely impressed by how smoothly and reliably it performed. It quickly became my go-to pen for classes because of its consistent ink flow and comfortable design. Based on that positive experience, I decided to upgrade my set of color pens to the Uni-ball lineup, expecting the same level of quality and performance. I chose the Uni One combo, thinking they would write as fluently as my Jetstream RT. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Several of the pens fail to write immediately when I try to use them, often requiring multiple attempts or scribbling before the ink flows. This interruption is especially frustrating during lectures, when I need to take notes quickly and cannot afford to waste time coaxing the pen to work. While the colors themselves are beautiful and vibrant, the inconsistency in performance makes them unreliable for academic use. Having to repeatedly replace or restart a pen just to get it to write defeats the purpose of owning a Uni-ball product. I expected the same smooth, effortless writing experience that Uni-ball is known for, but instead I’ve been left disappointed. Overall, I feel let down by the Uni One pens. I had high expectations after using the Jetstream and the Kuru Toga mechanical pencil, both of which set a high standard for quality and reliability. Unfortunately, these pens have not lived up to that reputation. For anyone who needs dependable pens for fast-paced note-taking, I would not recommend them.

Writes Great!
I recently tried this Uni-ball gel pen and it has quickly become one of my go-to writing tools. Here’s how it stacks up. ✅ What I liked • Smooth, reliable ink flow: The ink lays down dark, crisp lines with very little effort. One reviewer said the ink “lays down clear dark lines with every motion.” • Minimal skipping / interruption: For many types of paper I’ve used, it writes without hesitation—no major skips or gaps in the line. (Although some users do note skipping on lower-quality paper) • Comfortable barrel & design: The pen has a good balance, a comfortable size and shape, and doesn’t feel cheap or overly lightweight. The “One” series for Uni-ball is described as “a perfect length and diameter… comfortable for longer writing sessions.” • Quick drying & less smearing: Especially helpful if you’re left-handed or write quickly—less chance of smudge after writing. One review: “great choice if you’re looking for a super smooth writing experience… but the smudging issue holds back perfection.” • Good value: For the performance I got, I felt the price was reasonable. It’s nice when a pen does more than the basics. ⚠️ Areas that could be better • Paper dependence: On cheaper or very slick paper, some users mention skipping or inconsistent flow. As one Reddit user put it: “The Uni ONE is a nice pen … but the refill is a let down on reliability. It does skip on the type of cheap paper pad I use.” • Tip/point size & color limitations: Some of the finer tip sizes or lighter colors (in certain series) are less bold or harder to read. One review of color variants said: “Some of the colors were a bit light for the 0.38mm sized tips… writing is challenging.” • Grip style: A few reviews mentioned that the grip section is smooth and lacking heavy rubber texture, which might make it slightly less stable if you write for long hours without break. 🎯 My Verdict If you’re looking for a high-quality gel pen for everyday use—notes, journaling, office work—this Uni-ball One gel pen is a strong pick. It gives you smooth writing, good design, minimal fuss, and consistent performance. If you’re using extremely cheap paper, or you need the absolute finest tip for ultra-detailed drawing, you might want to check whether the specific variant meets those needs. But for general use, it hits the mark. I’m keeping it in my rotation and will likely buy another in a different color or tip size. ⸻ If you like, I can also write a shorter “quick review” version (1-2 sentences) or a version tailored for a specific use case (e.g., for left-handed writers, for bullet journaling, etc.). Would you like that?

Smooth Writing!
It was light and very easy to write with. I was expecting dry ink due to the reviews but it was not like that at all. Writing was very smooth and the blue was really pretty! It was actually smoother than lots of pens I have
