Perfect jars if you love kitchen gift giving!
Fantastic jars that were purchased for gift giving! Sturdy and a perfect size. Easy to clean and the seal fits well meaning no leaks!

These are terrific in the kitchen
These work perfectly for sous vide, and are more attractive to serve in than Ball. Get yourself a Weck jar grabber to go with them. The rubber grommet and clip concept works perfectly. No more "screw on tight and then a half-turn back" as with Ball. The results: egg bites better than the famous coffee store. Little lobster-tail pieces poached in butter to die for. And it all goes in the dishwasher, the grommets in the top rack and the clips in the silverware basket. My dinner guests think I'm a way better cook than I really am ... I of course take off the clips and remove the grommet, then put the glass lids back on as I carry them to the table and serve individually. As for other non-canning uses, I intend to press them in to service as containers/servers for flavored butters, mousse molds, and so on. The glass cover is just perfect.

Made plum and cherry preserves in MY SEXY WECK CANNING JARS
These jars are just wonderful for those who want to challenge their preserve making skills. These are the right size for small batches of preserves and tart/turnover fillings. The appearance is beautiful. The seals work well with the clips and the glass is a heavier sturdy weight.

I usually LOVE Weck Jars but . . . UPDATED
I called Amazon about the breakage. They have made things right; and my world has righted itself!! Thank you Amazon! And I actually do love these . . . EXCEPT one of the jars was totally smashed. The glass pieces are all over the cardboard box, so every time I try to take a jar OUT, it comes with broken glass. The Weck Jars are normally boxed better, but this time they weren't; and now I only have FIVE JARS when I needed SIX!

Bottom breaks in sous vide
Two of the 6 have now broken in the same way: When immersing in a hot water bath (for sous vide, not even boiling), the bottom cracks and pops off entirely as if the seam is weak. I haven’t had this issue with other jars from Weck; I wonder if this batch was defective as it seems others have had the same issue. I’m hesitant to keep using them for sous vide, which was their intended purpose, because every time it creates a huge mess and extra time spent in cleanup and making a new water bath.
